Hello all.  I have a IGT S2000 machine I am trying to clear.  In short I used a clear 224 chip that I put in place of the stepper base chip.  After installing the board I turned on the machine and waited for the two green lights to come on, they did however the first amber light below the two green lights also came on and was flashing.  I assumed this meant the board was "cleared".  For kicks and certainty I turned the machine off and on a few more times.  Once I reinstalled the stepper base chip I turned the machine on and saw a NETPLEX link down error flashing repeatedly with a dim faint on the front screen.  I repeated the above process with the clear chip, when that is installed things seem fine, at least no NETPLEX link flashing dimly on the screen.

Basically I am lost right now being this is my first machine (although I have two others working that I bought working, this one I bought straight from a wholesaler).  I was wondering if someone would mind replying with what each "piece" is on my board regarding the numbering I added.  I would like to first have the right understanding as to what is what for future posts and make sure I understand other posts in what steps to take to hopefully clear this machine.  For reference I also have a Key 45 if that information is needed.

Note #11 and #12 I added assuming 11 is the "green" battery that sometimes needs changed from what I read and the CMOS battery as the replacement that slides in and out.  Thanks in advance to anyone who can layout what is what for me.

I don't have space on my phone to list out all the numbers, but #1 is the SB chip. These go in in a certain direction with the notch on the chip matching the notch on the socket. Your machine didn't clear with the clear chip. Was it inserted correctly? Why did you want to clear it in the first place. We need more info

I tried again making sure the chip notch is correct.  The first time I turned the machine on only the first amber light lit up and was flashing.  I tried again and the two top green lights were on along with the first two amber lights.  I will continue on following these instructions posted by staz - http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?action=printpage;topic=15139.0

I must have had it in wrong the first time (?).  My assumption was that machines straight from a casino/wholesale company is that the machine needs cleared due to network/game settings and the clear would load defaults.  Perhaps that was wrong and I didn't need to clear it.  thank you for the quick reply.

Well I was able to work through the clear and the 45 key setup I believe.  Oddly when I power on the reels never spin.  I have three messages displaying at this point but its getting late.  Door Open M, closure B and bill validator error.  I will work on those tomorrow and hopefully start cleaning up the machine.

Two wires going to the micro switch on the cash can door need to be spliced together, that should get rid of two of your errors, Door Open M is just the main door has been opened and should go away after first game is played.  A S 2000 will clear one error and only one error each time the main door latch is opened and closed.  ( Lift and lower the latch a few times )

Thanks Buzz that worked.  A new message is appearing now - Select WAMM or IPC.  Back to the research drawing board.

Foster Told me one time always pick WAMM and you can't go wrong.. Off the top of my head I think you have to go back into Key Menu to pick WAMM. Before you use the Key chip try pressing the test button and see if it will let you pick WAMM>

Thanks Buzz.  I actually started a new topic thread due to this error message.  The posting is at the link below.  If you possible - can you elaborate on the "pressing the test button" option you threw out either in this thread or the other one where I posted for suggestions?  Thanks again.
