Hello

I just bought a 3 coin double diamond haywire s2000. I was wanting to Change the pay out percentage. I have the key chip 17 and I thought it was good for all s2000 machines but when I put the chip in I get the red led light. I made sure the notches were lined up so now I'm lost.  Any help will be appreciated.

What Red light ??  If your using a key chip you MUST have zero credits on the machine.   Give us some more  info.

It's the red led on the main board. There was no credits on the machine.

On your board there are the two plugs that connect to the backplane when you put it in place.  Look at those.  Are they both the same size, or is one smaller than the other?  There are two different mpu boards for a s2000, and they actually use different key chips.

Also, make sure you don't have any bent/broken legs on your keychip.

Staz, the key chip number depends on the board.  I have been using one for enhanced and one for standard and it has always worked, but they are not interchangeable between the type of board.

So I looked at the plug ins and they r the same size.  My other s2000 machine has a long plug in and a small plug in. So I guess the key 17 will not work in the new machine what key chip do I need to get.  Sorry if I'm not making scents I'm new to this.

Sounds like you have one machine with a 500 series board and one with an enhanced board. Get a Key 45 and a Clear224, they work on everything except R boards. A picture of the board you're dealing with wouldn't hurt either yes
