Question:  Is there anyway I can tell that a Game King machine is AVP-based, without going into the machine ? (i.e.: either by looking at the outside of it, or actually playing it?)  Is there any "telltale sign" ?

The AVP, Game King do not look any thing a like
Game king has top glass and belly glass AVP supposedly uses 2 displays one as the top artwork (in place of glass) and a player display
player deck is lower on the AVP with no belly glass or coin tray (they are 100% Currency and TITO)
The cabinet depth is less on the AVP they also get very warm

for pictures of the various cabinets go to IGT' website
I am not going to link to any of the pictures on there to prevent copyright issues.

Thanks for the response.  I see that the cabinet for an AVP-Native machine is totally different.  But IGT's promotional literature refers to AVP-emulated machines.  I figure this means taking the older cabinets and installing new AVP parts/software in them.  That is what I was wondering about:  is there something that would jump out at me and tell me that a machine is AVP-based (i.e.: running AVP emulation) or just a regular, older Game King.  Such as the screen appearance, how it sounds, etc.  Or perhaps I am misunderstanding this whole "AVP-emulated" thing ??
