Hi guys!

Total rookie here! I picked up a white ice machine and would like to get the backlight reels to work, I was told to buy a backlight controler, harness and the reels. I just dont know what plugs in where and if I have the right stuff for it to plug into? The machines main board says model # 1952-0 on it. Thats all I know. Help and pics would be supper appreciated!!

Can you post a picture of the inside of your machine, the lower section where the hopper would be?  You will basically need a backlit controller that screws to the back wall of the cabinet, a harness that goes from the controller to the reels and a harness that goes from the Cabinet/IO board to the controller.  Need to see from the picture if you have any of those parts already.

If you have an S2000, you can have backlit reels. We sell the conversion kit containing everything you need. The harness just plugs into the Motherboard and Cabinet I/O. We can help you.  yes

Looks like you are missing harnesses for the back lit hardware

Do some careful looking and feeling and picture taking of the wiring along the back wall and reel shelf
So CVSlots can see what else you might need to install it
If you are missing the power harness to the reel light controller we might have to figure out how to get power to it.

You have the power connector it is the 6 pin near the power supply in the bottom picture

I wonder if you are lucky enough to have the rest of the harnesses needed
see if you have three 12-14 pin whtie connectors tied off in the wiring that is running along the reel shelf or the back wall

The kit should come with a cable to go from the connector in the front of your picture and to the left to the Backlit controller board that will mount in the upper right section on the back wall of the cabinet.  Then you will have another cable that will connect to the controller and to each of the reels.  That connector in that wiring harness that was mentioned above will provide some power for your new controller and you will have some snazzy backlit reels.

Good luck and enjoy,
Mike

PS.  Ros at CVslots is great, I'm sure you will get everything you need.

They'll be terminally lit at a very low standby level and get bright behind symbols in winning combinations.

All winning combos are lit and flash
How individual symbols light up as they stop is kinda hard to explain
What I am saying let it be sort of a surprise
and each theme is slightly different concerning back lighting.

if you really want to see how it looks and works, search Youtube for some videos

Here's a good tip. If your machine is a single payline machine then remove the extra bulbs from the reels before youput your strips on. Each reel will have 3 sets of 2 bulbs, designed for multi-payline games, and the upper and lower set aren't needed for single payline themes. Removing the extras cuts down on heat and provides you with extras for the middle line when they burn out. The bulbs are a Zenon type and only used for the reel backlighting. I remove them on all my single payline themes, and it will not have an adverse effect on your electronics

It is 6 total per reel (2 per row)
so you are removing 12 but do not do it on themes that have position lines, the various Wild Cherry themes
you can do it on the original Wild Cherry, not sure if thy fixed it on the Double Wild Cherry or not. Triple Cherry and Triple Double Wild Cherry control the lamps properly.

On the sound just power off the machine and pull out the MPU board.  if there is a daughter board connected to the top of your board then that is most likely a media lite board, it should have a small board attached that looks like a memory SIMM/DIMM.  If you have that then you should be good on the hardware side of your sound.  Just power it back on, mash the little white button on the inside, on the front panel navigate to the OPTIONS, then SOUND OPTIONS and you can set the rollup sounds, reel spin sounds etc..  I like the Preferred multimedia sounds myself.  Once you have made your selections then hit the Play Max Credits util you have backed out of the menu and the game should be ready to play (door shut of course).

If you don't have the boards attached then post a picture of your MPU board and we can tell you where to proceed from here.  Someone on here might be able to tell you if you need a particular sound chip for your game theme.  I have not been able to figure out where to procure that info from yet (well I kinda have, I ask these guys Smiley  )

If you don't have that hardware then post a picture of your board  and we can direct you from there as to what you might need.  I think I got that right up above, I'm usually getting the help not offering it Smiley
