working on an s2000 cigar machine, following the clear procedures, i get to "call attendant" display, turn the reset key 3 times, the display goes blank and then after a short time, it goes back to "system error".


any ideas, this is a friends machine and i am stumped.  trying do a clear 5 or 6 times now with the same results.

You didn't say why you are doing a clear, but you might take a look at your chips...remove and re-insert them, checking for bent legs.

Post back with your findings.

tried doing a ram clear because,
1. bill acceptor quit working
2. batteries were replaced
3. could not get the machine to work after battery replacement
4. last resort, did not know what else to do.

clear chip was provided by vendor when machine was purchased.

also never get the second amber led to light with the clear chip in.

no bent legs, checked all chips and connections, everything seated.

Pull the mpu and check for bent pins in the connectors that goto the motherboard. Also what chips on board and what clear and key are you using. Is it an enhanced or standard 502/504 board?

What clear chip # are you using on what theme and what model MPU is installed?

i have the same problem with 2 of my machines i'm using clear 224 and set 31 any ideas why this doesnt want to clear or key the machines properly as the other 4 did. Had to do denom change

System error reset IS the next step in the process after the call attendant reset

I cant even get to system reset as when i put in the clear chip only the green lights come on and the orange lights stay off. What can be the problem any other way to Force clear the board and then Key chip it?
