anybody know how to fix the WMS BB1 I/O Lock issue.. ?

I've never seen that error before. It sounds like a power supply issue though. If the machine isn't getting the correct Input/Output voltages the board will lock up. Look at your motherboard, are ALL of the leds lit up? If not, take apart your power supply. If it has a circuit board connected to the "top part of the case", look at the resistors. I usually find one of them burnt up often along with 1 or 2 of the capacitors on that board testing bad. Those resistors are 2 watts, 50-51ohms.

Something else you can try is to take out your NXT and blow off the dust. Check and clean all of the connections. Look over the NXT for burnt components too.
