I replaced a dead battery on the main board for a customer and set his machine up for no hopper since he had lost his in shipping form another company. Now this error could be because I did not set something up properly after clearing the original low battery code after replacing it. That being said, he called me and said that he removed his cash box to get his money out and after installing it back into the game and shutting the door he got the code in the picture. Anyone know what I need to do to clear this for him?

Thanks

88 = Catastrophic Failure. The MPU board has failed for an unknown reason (if SafeRAMâ„¢ Clear does not resolve error code, replace MPU board).

the code states, "failed for an unknown reason", however short circuits can cause this also.  It may have been a coincidence that it errored when it did.  Hopefully once you clear it , the problem will be gone.

Thanks,
Wayne
