How long is a short?

Hi All
Well this newbie thinks  this may be a software problem. This slot was shopped and then cleared with IVC00224 and Key 31. I am able to get sound in the volume control settings for money and game volume in the sound setup. Get no sound in the sound test menu at all. The expanded (multimedia  lite) board is missing, but should still get some game sounds no? It gives me some "clicks" during play but thats it. I tried the version chip (VSX0011GX1) but no change. The other chips are SB101122,SG000399.
Any suggestions as how to proceed much appreciated.    Help Pic of board type  included.

That game really does need a MML sound board with a DSV00058 sound simm to really shine.  I had that game with a DSV00042 and it was boring, put in the correct sound simm and it is now fun, one of the games the family really loves.

What do you mean the MML2 is missing? It's shown in your picture? Its the 6"x9" piggyback board shown in the left side of your picture. What is the DSV number on the sound SIMM (little green card, 1"x5") shown in the pic? Are you hearing the click out of the speakers or from inside the machine? And last of the 20 questions, are you missing any sound equipment inside the machine (I.e. Amp on backward of top box)?

Thanks CV and Mike. Yes the MM2 board is missing, sorry just had the generic pic in my files so I used it Duh!. As I said I get some sound when I set the Volume in game and money sound settings(from speakers). And even without MM2 I should get some game sounds on this machine, no? Hardware seems to be ok.

Hi CV
Reel spin sound is on and reel stop set to soleniod, only other choice for reel stop sound was none. Still get no sounds at all in sound test menu but still get "dong" when setting game and volume settings.

Never mind...thought I remembered something about 4 reel S2000s, such as Sizzling 7 Supin Sin, Big Times Pay, etc. and a quick search confirmed it....On these games, no MML2 = No generic sounds.  You will need to get the MMl2 and DSV to have anything but the solenoid sounds.

Here's a post on it from way back...
