I just got a slot machine at an auction that didn't power up (triple diamond), I opened the door and noticed the power plug was out, i put it back in and it powered up. All the fuses are good. It flashed a code 3300. I put in $200 worth of quarters and closed the door the hopper and bill machine makes noise but code 3300 still appears, please help

3300 relates to the hopper
It means coin out time out - hopper is empty, coins not being picked up by the hopper, too small of coin in the hopper, coin out optic not working, etc
take some pictures of the inside and outside of machine and post them  (2 per post - use the reply button and yes you can make multiple posts to include more pictures)

That is a IGT S+

Did the hopper operate before the 3300 tilt showed up?
The Bill validator and the hopper will sound different.

if so are coins dispensed but not counted?
Did the 3300 show very quickly?
usually it takes 30 seconds or so for a 3300 error to show up
Giving the hopper agitator and shelf wheel time to stir the coins so they get picked up by the shelf wheel, then exit the hopper and be counted as they exit.

Yes I can tell the difference between the bill validation and the hopper, this is my first slot machine, I got it last Friday. On the inside the power supply cord was not all the way in. I pushed it in and everything turned on. So from that point there was no coins in the hopper, not knowing what to do I closed the door and started dropping coins in, but nothing was happening. That's when I noticed the 3300 code and looked it up on the Internet, I found it meant hopper empty. I then went to the bank and put 800 quarters in, after closing the front door the reels spun on their own and then error 3300 again. When I close the door the bill validator makes a bunch of noise then the hopper runs for a Lil while than takes a few seconds break than runs for a few seconds more and stops. Not once has a coin dropped out, but I can hear them turning in the hopper

Sounds like either the wheel is not grabbing quarters at or near the bottom, or they are not being picked up by knife.
The knife is toward the top front of the pin/shelf wheel in the hopper and it should be laying on the pinwheel and against the edge of the shelf wheel.

I think a door open hopper test is in order

press the test or attendant button ( it is near the power switch) a few times until you see a number 3 in the coins played window
Press the Spin reels button
The hopper should try to pay out 10 coins exactly
Observe what the hopper and coins are doing you may want to reduce the amount of coins in the hopper to 150-200

I tried what u said, I pushed the little white button many times to get to number three but when I hit the spin reels, nothing happened, last night I also took the hopper knife off and noticed that a very small piece of the tip had been broken, how much of a point does it need, also what is a good web site for ordering parts?

The classifieds section of this very website is a great place to find parts, too.

Chances are you just need to replace the knife. If the tip is broken it will cause the coins to not get picked up. Once you install a new knife, just put 50 or so coins in there to test the hopper -- don't worry about completely filling it.

Yay the new knife worked! Thank guys. Now that its up and running I have a lot of buzzing from the speaker, is this normal, it makes all the right dings and dongs but the constant buzzing is a little irritating, the only time it doesn't is when I initially close the door, only lasts for a few seconds then the buzzing comes back

It is a 16MHz MPU instead of a 10MHz MPU,
They like to buzz for the following reasons:
Game and Reel chip speed is a bit slow.
Poor routing of the audio output signals on the board.

Buy a 10mhz MPU board and a new (10 mhz) SP chip that will support a Type 0 game.

Your pictures showed that the coins were jamming at the knife. As I followed the thread it looks like the knife was the issue and that you have fixed the problem. Most of the issues with the IGT + machines are all easy to fix and the guys here are great at helping.
