Ok we'll I bought a slot machine called. Players Edge draw porker 4000 coins! I paid $180 for it. And I have no clue about slot machines! I don't think it even works and I believe it's missing some parts that I have no clue what they look like. When ever I turn it on it says DOOR OPEN CALL ATTENDANT BAD DATA EPROM. So if you can please let me know if this machine is even worth trying to fix or not. And what parts I'm missing here are some pictures

Are you interested in selling the machine, as is? Where are you located.

Well some good news.
1. The screen lights up.
2. Looks like you have minimal burn in.
3. The price you paid is reasonable.
4. The BAD Eprom Data occurs when you change games - common error.
5. The call attendent message shows up for any little thing such as running out of coins etc.
- You bought it, your now the attendant LOL - get used to it.

To clear the error
Open the door.
Press and HOLD the little white button for about 10seconds.
Close the door.

The error should go away.

You might get a different error such as LINK is down etc.
You have hit the right site - we can help you though getting this machine up and running.
Let us know what it says next ?

With respect to parts missing ?? - your pictures were not really clear in what you thought was missing.
Commonly these machines had player tracking hardware in them. The casinos pull this (and reuse it) often leaving empty holes etc.
The player tracking is of no use to you as it requires the whole back end computer based slot management system.

I did not notice a bill validator - so if you have your hopper out and MPU removed (The MPU is the Main Processing unit) - its the only removeable board in a metal tray - please post a picture of this board.

The reason I ask is that its possible you have a PE vs a PE+
PE's were too old to have a bill validator.
Early PE+'s did not have them either, later they added sidecars (bill validators mounted on the side of the unit) and finally they were integrated.

I believe the processor tray (with the little white test button) may be located above your monitor.  Can you please post a picture of your machine with the door open and a view of the area above your monitor?

Pardon my earlier post -- I overlooked the location of your MPU board, which is indeed located to the left of your hopper.

Check out the area I circled in this picture -- that is the Self Test button you should be pressing to talk to the machine.

Don't actually talk to it with your voice -- it won't listen.   Crazy

Review what Jay posted in Reply #5 for what to do with the self test button.

Excellent.  Repeat the process -- open the door, press and hold the button, release it, close the door.  If the message is still on the screen at that point, with the door closed and latched, turn the jackpot reset key on the side of the machine once and release it.

Is there a keyswitch on the right side of the machine?  You're going to need to turn that with the door closed to get past this error message.

Good News/Bad News
Good News: IGT Jackpot reset keys are all the same and you can get one from any of the many vendors from the home screen.
Bad News: You ain't got one and shipping is going to be a day or two.

The key switch simply shorts two wires.
If you want to deal with this today. You can hook two wires up to the key switch and run them outside of your machine or you can temporarily replace the key switch with a momentary contact button.

So instead of turning the key switch with the key you don't have yet simply short the two wires for a second or two.
