i just added coin stuff to my s2k and there is a round hole in the bottom of the machine that is now collecting like every other quarter or so. my home built stand, of course, doesn't have a hole in it. was there some sort of coin collection box inside the casino stand? should i just cut a hole in my stand and add a collection box of my own? is there some sneaky way of making sure all quarters input go to the hopper instead of this chute? is it an overflow or what? any of you guys and gals out there who know about this stuff clue me in, please! thanks!  Scratch Head

Are you missing a piece of the puzzle? Maybe snap a pic and post it when you get a chance...

Bill  On the back of the coin optics unplug the two wire plug going to the coil.  Should make all coins go to the hopper.  If that doesn't work take a tie wrap and install it to hold the diverter flapper door ( lower coin optics ) in the up position. I see this tie wrap used quite often in machines from casinos.

Or the lazy way, shove a hand full of paper towels in the overflow chute to prevent the overflow coins dropping down the chute making them a bitch to fish out.

first pic of the hopper and you can see right below it a black plastic chute. the second pic is of the chute itself and maybe you can make out some quarters down there. at the end of the chute is a 2" or so diameter hole cut in the bottom of the s2k cabinet. it goes nowhere because it is blocked off by my home made stand and so just collects whatever quarters drop down that chute and they are difficult to retrieve. third pic is of the front door, the white square opening at the bottom is what connects to the chute. i'm not sure why the coin entry sometimes directs the quarters to this overflow(?) chute and sometimes to the hopper.

It's best too post in the open and that way maybe someone else will have this problem in the future.

As I understand the design of the diverter was for when the hopper became overfull in the casino the diverter would direct the coins through a hole in the slot stand and the coins went into a bucket below that hole. the long screw ( probe ) sticking out into the coins in the hopper completed the electrical circuit to ground causing the diverter to send the coins to overfull bucket.
