I just picked up a tripple saphires 3 coin. It has been tinkered with by someone. It would not power up. I pulled the board and replaced with a good one and all worked. The board that was in it has SP1048 and SS4785 the next chip is missing. I had an extra board and pulled a chip from the same location and the board now works. What chip # belongs in the space? Is it called the "main or eprom"

You are probably talking about the CMOS.
These occasionally wear out (not often) but they only have so many reads and writes.

Are all cmos the same? Like I said the board would not work until I put one in from a Casino Nights board. None of the displays would light. Am I good with what I put in or should I get a new one?

CMOS is CMOS, chip speeds and sizes differ but if your pulling from one S+ Board to fill another they are the same.

The SS and SP chips give your machine its theme.

Theoretically you could move those three chips to the other board and it will work fine.

Karma is what you acquire for doing a good deed.

Karma points are what people click on to say thank you.
