I bought a used slot machine. Everything works except the bill validator..  it takes the bills in but spits them back out... What is wrong with my validator?

Awww, that's no fun..lets start by having you try some different bills. Make sure you are using old money (no colored bills, try with $1s). Bill Validators have to be updated to take recent currency. See if you can get it to take ANY bill, try some different older bills...

Report back! I'm sure the guys here can get you fixed up in no time!

I have tried many different 1 dollar bills..  the light are all red.....

Update I got it to take a 2001 $5 bill. But it won't take anything else so I took the 5 out of the cash box and it accepted it again and again it wouldnt take another bill

without sounding like an expert, it sounds as if the dipswitches might be set to only accept $5's?

Here's the manual from JCM's site.  The dip switch settings are on page 11.  Also the newer bills need newer versions of the software, your version may not recognize the newer bills.  Have you tried a dollar bill, since it's the only bill that hasn't changed?
