How long is a short?

Hello All

I want to replace the 2 large can Caps which are (100UF@450/20UF@450). I have a pretty good hum in this amp. Could be tube leakage but  anyhoo, wanted to replace them without having to install a terminal strip and use axials. Anyone know where or even if these can be purchased?

Have a good one!

They are avaliable just do a search for them.
However, I believe the hum your getting may be associated with a loose tube socket.
I had a juke AMP where someone replace a AMP socket and use screws to secure it to the chassis. The screws were loose and it caused the hum in my case. Check this first before buying any new parts.

Now for the old paper caps, be sure you replace them before you even power up one of those old amps.

Thanks for the info. I do have a loose socket but not loose in its mount but with loose pins(spread out) I was waiting for the new EL84s to arrive and deal with it then, even considering replacing it.

I love this place! applause
