Hi all:

I just purchased a IGT S2000 machine with a Double Diamond Deluxe theme.

The machine has an issue in that only the left speaker has any sound. I plugged the right speaker into the left output from the amp, and the right speaker works, so I know its not a blown speaker. In addition the bottom speaker also has no sound.

I purchased a replacement amp board, thinking this would fix the problem, but no success there.

I read a previous post where a quick fix would be to jump the white wires out of the speaker harness with a sewing needle to simulate stereo, but I would prefer to have this machine play true stereo and have the bottom speaker also work.

Can anyone tell me if this is possible and lead me in the right direction on where to look next?

Thanks in advance!

If you upgrade by adding an MMLII multimedia board and DSV0042 sound simm you will get stereo sound out of all speakers after a few simple sound setting changes without having to butcher your wiring to do it. Your current setup is only made for mono sound from one speaker

Well your not going to get Stereo and enhanced sound until you dig down in your pocket and buy a MM II sound board and sound simm, ballpark cost 50 to 60 bucks. If and when you do get a sound board and simm with the 502 board you have in the picture, your going to get a humming sound out of all three speakers. One mod a lot of us do is solder a resistor in line of the white wire going to each speaker. Let me warn you a while back there was a pissing match as to this being a good mod or a bad mod. Choice is yours I still use it with 100% success. you will also read on here to use a 47 ohm resistor, I use 22 ohm resistors because with a 47 you have to turn the volume up to almost the max to hear the machine. With a 22 you don't need max volume.

Check the plug from the tray to the machine for the lower speaker. most times that plug is crap. Me I remove the machine bracket that holds the plug and each time I put the tray back on the machine I just plug them together by hand.

For what it's worth that green battery on your board isn't needed for home use and they tend to start leaking and damage the board. Just carefully cut the tabs and remove the battery without damaging the traces on the board.

Thanks for all your help!  I am going to try the Sound Board and SIMM.  Then I will deal with the hum.

This is going to be another fun hobby for me.

Well,  I  bought the MultiMedia Lite board and DSV0042 sound simm . I bought the regular MM Lite board, since the MML2 board was hard to locate, and was assured the regular MML board would work....and it did!  I had great sound effects and in Stereo......but just for 2 days bawling

Today, I went to play, and I started to get some static and the enhanced sounds went back to the generic sounds. I figured maybe the MML board came loose so I reseated it with no success.  In addition, I then removed it and when the machine rebooted, I got a systen error and had to clear it wiith the jackpot reset key. The error had something to do with a simm card error I believe.

So now,  The error is cleared and I re-installed the MML board and simm card, but its as if its not even installed anymore...The machine plays fine, but with the original problem where sound only comes from the left speaker with generic sounds only.  When I try to enable the multimedia card through sound setup, multimedia option is no longer a menu item.

HELP!

First off I think someone is pulling your leg, as for as I know there are only two sound boards one takes eproms and the other one takes a simm.

The first thing I would do is take a pencil eraser and clean the contacts on the simm. The dip switches on the simm will be off but won't hurt to switch each one to on and then off. Next go into the settings and make sure the enhanced sounds are turned on.

Boards and simms go bad, I've got a half dozen boards marked NFG and maybe 20 or 30 simms in the same condition. Your profile isn't filled out so No way of knowing where you live, but I would be more than happy to test the board and simm for you.

Buzz, Sorry if I was not clear, but I DO have the Simm version of the Multimedia Lite Board, its just not marked are Multimedia Lite II. That being said, I think I now know what you guys mean by the MML2. I thought the MML2 was a special simm board.....no wonder I could not find one! Bear with me as this is my fist experience with slots. LOL

I will clean the contacts on the simm and see what happens.  I bought the boards from a very helpful and friendly vendor who will exchange them for me I'm sure....

Thanks again
