Hi guys, new member here.

I'm planning to repurpose some backlit S2000 reels for a homebrew machine (IGT reels, but all the logic would be my own design. Just for fun.)

I've ordered some reels, but don't have them yet. I'd like to start on the motor driver circuitry, but the specs IGT gives are pretty bland in the schematics.

So... I was wondering, if anyone had some loose reels, they could tell me the part numbers or any specs printed on the motors?

Any help would be great.

Also - are the backlight bulbs dimly lit when they are 'off'? or are they actually off entirely... ?

23KM-K214-10V
NO.T4705-07

Minebea Matsushita
Motor Corporation

Made in Thailand

That is what is written on the motor tag.

Incandescent light bulbs stay dimly lit, LED backlit go completely out.

Oh yeah, I should have specified. This is 3 reel. the black plastic ones, if they are somehow different than the clear ones? I'd imagine the motors are probably similar anyway.

Well I got them in the mail. Hooked one up to a stepper motor driver board I made, wrote a little code.. got it spinning. They sure make a racket at low speed. Higher speed seems ok, but it seems a little faster than the actual machines. Maybe my driving technique is a bit off - do they seem noisy if you have no sound? You wouldn't hear them over the music, but they aren't silent...

Guess I'll have to go to the casino and do some research about the speed Smiley

Now I'll have to fab a shelf for them to mount to, and write some proper software. Should keep me busy for a while!

If you are running the reels without sound and they are not behind the door of a machine they would make some noise some times they do get a little loose and become exceptionally noisy you can fix that by taking a small csrewdriver and tapping the retaining ring on the shaft.
