I am a new S2000 owner. I just got a parts complete S2000. With a battery change,  Clear 97 and Key 31, searching through NLGs, and some luck fumbling through the menu have gotten it up and running. This machine came with a .25 coin entry, hopper, BV and printer. I would like to be able to:

1. use the quarters to go to game, not credits
2. when I hit cashout use the printer, not hopper
3. Only Jackpot to go to handpay

I have some ideas on what is needed but would sure appreciate some step by step instructions to accomplish this. Thanks in advance. Do you need to know what chips are in it or is it pretty general instructions?

First, as Buzz always says, do not use the Clear chip unless instructed to do so by someone that knows much more about the situation--basically its a last resort.  The options menu and/or the key 31 menus can change the options you are looking for.  Just go into the options menu (open the machine and press the white button on the board), cycle thru and change a couple of settings, and you should be good to go.  I posted the options menu below.

I must be getting slow or just don't understand. Three time in as many days I've read on here " I want the coins to go to game and not credits " " WHY ??"  Scratch Head Scratch Head  I must be missing something, let's take a (2) coin machine and the coins go to credit, you accidentally drop the third coin in and it goes to credit. So whats the big deal. Same machine but set for coins to machine and you  accidentally drop the third coin in, then the last coin will go to the tray, or sometimes it will go to the hopper and the hopper has to return it before the next game.n ( Sometimes the hopper doesn't return it and you lose a coin or worse yet you get a coin error. ) I just gotta ask, which setup is better ??

I can recall installing a SP1137 Montana credits in a S+ and how much better I liked it.  For all you that never had a S+ with a SP1137 Game chip, it made it possible for all coins to go to credits. Well that's not quite true, if it was  say 5 coin game, the first 5 coins went to game play and any other coins would go to credits.

Here's how I have it set up. I can put 3 coins in and pull the handle .  In other words the coins that are inserted go in to the coins played even if I have credits on the machine. If I put 4 coins in the machine the 4th falls into the tray. This happens with credits on the machine. It is just utilizing the coins, hopper and printer. I  am not sure what you mean by the 4th coin goes to the hopper and doesn't return it. Maybe I am not clear in what I am trying to do.....All I want to do:

Be able to play my quarters, with a small payout  from my hopper and use the rest with the printer and hand pay the Jackpot.

And if I find myself asking 'WHY" I will go coin less and just use the printer, or still use quarters and the hopper for storage and printer for cash  outs. With the options and questions on this forum I might learn how these things work by trying different settings to get around and  maybe not ask questions that are unintelligible and make no sense.

Dale  I think you took my post wrong, ask away that's the way we all learn.

OK If what you want is a small payout with coins and the remainder to be on a ticket. In key menu first enable split pay and then set coins in split pay to the amount of coins you want to be paid from the hopper, and the rest of the credits will be printed.

Dale if you set coins to credit, you can drop all the coins into the machine you want and they will add to the credits that are already on the machine, none will be rejected to the tray.  ( Montana Credits )
