Here is a pic of a board found in a Uni machine. The board is mounted on the wall behind the hopper.

Looks to me that it is a communication board for a casino network. Is that what it is? Never seen this board before????

UNI -good to see your collection of UNIVERSALS IS STILL GOING STRONG ..
i would tend to agree with you its part of player tracking i have a about a 1/2 dozen almost or exact similar boards that were used for player tracking points etc .. a couple i have are made by "CDS" with a soldered on 5.5 volt dc battery on it the others are two halves of exactly what you have in picture and others are the whole board like yours . there in my pile >>the famous pile lol of the don't throw away stuff --because you never know what chip or transistor or cap you may need to rob from it to repair something else or perhaps make it active again . ..

or to answer your question ..there is a reason for everything .. lol
after i SUPERSIZED YOUR PICTURE it looks like the letters  I/F BOARD =interface board plus it looks like a 3./6 volt battery on the lower left of board solderd on ?? try checking for volts there for giggles and laughs .. are there any other old wires coming off it heading to a possible display that was removed or exit out of back of slot cabinet .. its the location it was mounted that is odd thats all .but UNIVERSALS as you know are not the typical slot --i think you know what i mean on that note .

ROCKET, thanks for replying. I too have an old CDS Sentinel 2 board and a SMI IV board. The CDS green Sentinal board is used with players card interface and I believe the red SMI board for machine tracking.

Now, this mystery board, has a power on/off switch, never seen that on machine tracking boards. And, in the lower left corner is a solid state relay. Wonder what that's for??

This board is in a machine owned by an NLG member, I don't have it. This machine has been "frankenstiened" with added wiring, a toggle switch for the comparitor, extra hopper wires, etc!!

Trying to restore it back to working condition.
