How to set up pays on your Bally EM
1. push down on the coin in switch and release.
2. pull the handle.
3. reach back in and stop the spinning fan (left side reel mech) with your finger.
4. move each reel to whatever winning combination you want to check.  Hold them in that position.
5. release the fan.
6. release the reels.
7. catch the coins coming out of your hopper, if all is well.

Or-
Pull the handle halfway.  This should release the reels (it pulls back the index arms) to allow you to firmly move them down to a centerline pay position.  Hold reels on centerline and fully pull handle.  After it indexes, catch your coins.
I urge you to try both of these methods just to see how they each work.
