I have a megatouch maxx back into me. It had been working fine for several years. I was told last fall it was unplugged and stored until just recently. When the game was turned on it went through the cmos error set time date. I had them replace the battery and reset clock and default bios. After doing that the system goes to loading linux......CRC Error ---System halted. I had them bring me the game. I have replace the drive, the ram, the drive cables and still get the same error. the drives do work in other machines. I have been able to hook a cd drive up and boot into a live cd. I have ran several system check tests and all pass.

I am at a loss....any idea's

I was going to try and connect the hard drive to the second ide and see if it will boot from there.

thanks for any ideas

Mike

All steps of bios configuration and setup have been done per merit technical manual. Battery, time and date have all be updated. Bios has been reflashed, drive has been reprogrammed using original CD's, Ram has been tried from a working machine, security key and drive have been tried from a working machine. I still get the crc error. The drives I have created in the machine in question function fine in a different machine.

I compared bios setting with identical machine.....same

My next step i think is a new mobo or have i missed something.

Update:
Tried using second (CD ROM) IDE connector and machine would boot and play, but would lock up after sitting idle for a while. Swapped out and replaced mainboard, machine has run perfectly for the last couple days.
