Thinking out loud and Need some input 
When I bought this house a few years ago,I built a "shed" that is 14'X24"  for a workshop,four wheelers',dirt bikes,etc... However, I had two slots,and two pinballs and two "cherry masters"then. This is what I built today for some

And the main gameroom (kids have friends over,and sleeping in it ...  so no pictures at the moment). Anyway,the main one has foosball,airhockey,pinballs,etc..

The moral of the story is; Can I build I gameroom that is not attached to the house and the weather will not affect any of the "toys". Figure the airhockey is partical(sp) board ,felt on the pool table,Merit touchscreens,etc.? At the moment I have 15 slots set up,but 11 more in the garage "looking for a home". I would like to build one room that can hold .

Now,the kicker... I live central NE (Md.) which the humidy gets bad and so does the cold ...SOMETIMES. I will put heat and AC in it,but it will only be on if we are playing. That is whear I need some input

Randy0777, Nice machines!  In your third picture, are those complete machines on that single shelf, about 450 lbs? If you are building to put everything in there then you have a heck of a project. Three full size tables (pool, air hockey, etc), 26 slots and other misc. arcade and pinball machines!!  Moisture, heat and cold are definitely going to be a problem and if the ambient conditions are not maintained constantly, you're gonna have problems. I would think that moisture would be the biggest issue, but then again, I could be wrong.

That's a great assortment of machines you've got there. Your house is probably the hot place for your kids and their friends to hang out.

I think it's done with mirrors.
They're up there for the really TALL pool players.

To heck with Vegas, I'm going to YOUR HOUSE for Vacation!...You can put me up in that "spare bedroom" 


In regard to your question, climate control is basically an issue for any/all electronics. The obvious best bet would
be an addition to the home but if you are looking for something detached, I would recommend building to same
standards of a home. High humidity areas are a concern even in a house but there is only so much a person can
"realistically" do.  These machines, generally, are built tough and can take a lot. For the most part keep them
dry and cool and they'll treat you right. If the environment is comfortable to you then I suspect your machines
will be OK. That said, that's one heck of an investment you've got there. Obviously you'll want to do right by it.
The last point I would make would be to cover the whole Electrical & Safety concerns involved in that setup. By the
looks of it, you would all but create an ACTUAL fully functional Casino/Arcade. One circuit wont cover it.

The two machines on wall was done because of the pool table... could not build a stand due to the room,and space for the sticks. The garage is useless for our cars (SUV's) > I get get my bike in it and and storgage. My goal is to build a two car garage(a real one) and build a game room above it to hold all of the games,but that will be awhile. I have plenty of room to build a building away from the house for now for the games . However,it will be at least 100' away and did not really want to run HVAC 24/7. I was most concerened about the humidy and whatever damage it would cause. I can run de-humidifers 24/7 (which I will regardless) ,but what about when friends drop over and just want to play when its 98deg out and the effect on the machines?  I would like to clear up all the floor space that Im killing AND have everthing TOGETHER.


PS: the board under the machine only serves to set drinks and things on. The lag bolts you see at the top was just added security for the weight when the door is open. Not only the weight of the machines but the one has 600$ of Ike (1$) coins in it and the other is 5 cents with around 200$ in it...so,it is supporting some weight!

LOl,yes,I was nervous. I talked to the Millwrights,Welders,Tooling ...skipped the engineers( dont start ) about the weight the 2X4's could support. Only thing they could say was the braces would hold the weight . The wall was a different story

Oh,tjkeller .I had the "Electric Co." run another 240 service to the house because of the welders' and the air comprsior(sp). I have the juice for the room .

Just don't hit "cash out" on all of your machines while using your pneumatic nail gun and spot welding at the same time, and you'll be alright.

pneumatic nail gun ...Had to read back through the post I used a pneumatic nail gun to build the last stand and the braces on the wall I migged the inside of them  (Only time I spot weld is the cars that some of you drive  )

Hey, it's been discussed before on the old site, so I know I'm not the only one...

I had a faulty compressor, and it under pressured my framing nailer. I had it kick back on 3 out of 5. I was pushing to get some work done and the Mrs was going to exchange the compressor the next day. It kicked back and the second shot went right into my hand. Luckily it was the soft spot beteen the thumb and fore finger. I screamed like a banchee. The wife comes down stairs as I am pulling the nail out my hand. Since thats mostly muscle there was almost no blood. She looks at me and calls me a big baby and heads back up stairs.  Needless to say she almost got a 3" incher in the back of the head. THat was two basements ago. Yes we are still married. I couldn't move the thumb for about a week. It came back to full mobility after a month.
