I have a friend that owns a POG 580 and he told me that someone used a cheat device on his machine. He figured this or assumed this because the cash in the box did not match the cash-in in the terminal audit  menu. Could there be a glitch in the accounting part of the machine or is there really a cheat device out there?

the POG has a great accounting system .. i mean great --you can bring up each game adjust payout percents etc .. If the pot o gold was a recently enabled  new game ???  with new payout %"s it will run off track a bit until it calms down and follows track of % entered for payout ..  that is the nature of the beast .

it will fall into place in time ..just keep in mind each time you re set the POG and disable some games and enable new games it has to have a chance to play for awhile to follow the % entered . -------being more specific on what particular game and what he set the payout % at would help determine where the loss is at ?? poker --keno ---black jack etc .. ..

as far as cheat devices  the electronic zappers i have tried back in 1999 and on up they never worked to trigger anything .. the other electromagnetic wave device you can make yourself  or buy to disrupt signals ---caused more P O G machine boards to lock up than anything else my opinion .the early U.S. GAMING software for the POG down in the 370 ---400 software I was told by LIESURE TIME PRODUCTS  had problem areas holding payout percentages --but most folks are running 510-580 -581- software which i never have seen a problem --there are tricks as a programer of the POT O GOLD you can do to induce a jackpot note: while programing it

.but i wont disclose that since i sell P O G boards and its only on certain games on certain other softwares .

but if its drastically off on accounting someone is dipping fingers in the cash box ... Silly Me! Silly Me! Silly Me! Silly Me!

This is off topic but maybe you can help me with this problem that i have. My LCD touchscreen on my POG 580 loses touch response after a few minutes of play and I would always have to turn it off and on just to get it working again but doing this doesnt always work. Sometimes the calibration would be off by a lot. The fact that the touchscreen actually works for a short period of time I would assume that it's something else causing this problem but I'm not too sure. Could the power supply be a factor ? If anyone knows of this error and have a solution please help me. Thanks in advance

Hi Rocket, This is the machine I have and i bought the double sided alligator clip wires that you mentioned. Im not sure if they're the right ones but i tried what you said to do. I placed one side of the clips on the metal parts behind the screen attached to grill-like vents and the other side connected to the power supply on the inner side metal vents. The results were the same and the problem still wont go away. Maybe im not putting the clips at the right spots? I was looking for a controller with 3M on it but i dont think this machine has one although the other machines that i own do have the controller but those havnt given me any problems. I hait.ve an LCD screen and the machine is in a carpeted room. This is the only one that gives me problems. The following pictures are from the inside of the machine so maybe you are familiar with it.

This shows the inside which has the white touchscreen wire that goes directly to the motherboard without a controller.

This photo here shows the blue monitor wires that connects to two switches which only changes the focus of the graphics when i mess with it.

move the machine out of the room with carpet ..as i mentioned in the PM  grounds are the key problem of t/s
of the user and machine .. once you move it see if it acts ok .. the rest looks fine ..

thats just the signal converter to convert the CRT TO VGA OUTPUT
simple terms old style CRT =cathode ray tube what was used on the pot of gold design to start in order to use the LCD display you need a signal converter to VGA 15-PIN LCD Display

if you wanted to install a CRT -TUBE STYLE display -you would remove the signal converter and just plug the 6 pin plug into the CRT chassis ..and you have picture again ..

My whole house is carpeted except for the kitchen. Do you think that plugging it directly into a wall outlet will help because I currently have it plugged to a multi outlet surge protector.

I have a POG 580 which is in a carpeted room and I can't move it because all my rooms are carpeted. My touchscreen tends to lose touch response after a few plays and I would have to turn it off and on to get it working again but the problem comes back every time . I was told that it might be poor grounds. I have an LCD monitor. I have the machine on a plastic table with metal legs on top carpet. How do I ground the machine? Would plugging it in directly to a wall outlet help because I currently have it plugged to a multi outlet surge protector. Btw I have another machine in the same room but that one hasn't given me any problems. Thanks in advance

My whole house is carpeted except for the kitchen. Do you think that plugging it directly into a wall outlet will help because I currently have it plugged to a multi outlet surge protector.

as I mentioned in the lengthy P.M  I sent grounds are always trouble .. if the ground prong of the AC PLUG is CUT OFF as many people do ---the machine wont be grounded properly then not work properly from time to time

if its sitting on a table top  covered or table cloth that insulates it from grounds . you as operator could be poorly grounded .. to further give you food for thought ..I played a touch screen game at a casino once that had carpeted floors . i had dockside-rs on my feet .. it was working fine .. I sat back slid my dockside rs off so i was in socks on carpet .. as soon as i did that i had no screen response !!
I knew instantly I was not grounded ..
I put my dockside rs back on it worked fine ..

Another problem I suffer with and you may also is rough work hands ?? if your hands are heavy calloused and you touch screen it may not respond .. that's why when i purchased my new "i" phone i picked a model with a keyboard option .. because my fingers are so beat to shit from working in trades all my life and cleaning them constantly they build up with dry skin and touch screens don't recognize them ..

a trick i tell everyone is lick your finger--- if the screen does not respond ?? if you lick your finger  and touch the screen and it works ?? its you the operator poorly grounded ..

but this is the machine you said you cant find a 3m controller .. in your other pictures i did not see it .
only the touch screen db-9 serial cable running under a pot of gold board .
they connect to the "ETHERNET" PLUG  on the main POG BOARD .with usually a 18--24 inch cable going to LCD display . then back to the pot of gold Ethernet female plug .

so you have 3 machines two alike one different that is causing trouble only on the touch screen ??

as i mentioned does it have the AC CORD GROUND PRONG CUT OFF IT ?? HAVE YOU TRIED IT IN ANOTHER ROOM ANOTHER COMPLETE AC WALL OUTLET CIRCUIT IN HOME TO SEE IF IT WORKS PROPERLY ??

CHECK ALL CONNECTIONS REMOVE THEM LOOK FOR BENT PINS IN THE 9-PIN PLUG AND ON THE ETHERNET CABLE WHERE IT PLUGS INTO BOARD .. THE ETHERNET PLUGS ON THE MAIN BOARD ITSELF GET A LOT OF WIGGLE ACTION AT TIMES -- THOSE GET DRY SOLDER JOINTS AND LOOSEN UP AND CAUSE TROUBLE BUT NOT TO OFTEN BUT DO CAUSE T/S TROUBLE SEE IF THE PLUG IS LOOSE ON THE MAIN BOARD WITH LIGHT PRESSURE

.. ALL THE OTHER THINGS I TOLD YOU ON THE P.M. TO DO .
BUT FOLLOW THE WIRES OFF THE LCD TOUCH SCREEN . SOME WERE MADE ETHERNET TO ETHERNET !
SO YOU WONT SEE THE NORMALLY RECOGNIZED 9-PIN PLUG WITH 2 THUMB SCREWS HOLDING IT ON THE LCD DISPLAY IT MAY BE A ETHERNET OR ANOTHER TYPE OF HIGH SPEED PLUG AS IN A PRINTER STYLE PLUG ETC WITH CONNECTORS TO ADAPT TO THE CONTROLLER OR DISPLAY ETC

THE ETHERNET IS THE SAME AS  HOME PC WIRE FROM ROUTER TO COMPUTER IF HARD WIRED . .
THATS A ETHERNET PLUG . REMOVE IT LOOK FOR BENT PINS OR NOT FULLY SEATED ETC ON BOTH ENDS .

LOOK FOR THE CONTROLLER ?? >>>TURN ALL LIGHTS OFF IN ROOM <<<<<TURN ON MACHINE AND WITH COVERS OFF TOUCH THE TOUCH SCREEN ..YOU WILL SEE IN 99% OF ALL CONTROLLERS A GREEN LIGHT DIMM OR BRIGHTEN ON CONTACT OF TOUCH SCREEN ..THATS THE CONTROLLER .. IF ITS 3M MICRO TOUCH .POWER OFF MACHINE REMOVE THE CONTROLERS TWO OR FOUR MOUNTING SCREWS OR VELCRO IN SOME CASES --REMOVE THE SMALL BAR PLUG OFF THE BACK OF IT AND CLEAN AND REPLACE .
THEN RE INSTALL AND SEE IF MACHINE WORKS PROPERLY ??

IF YOU DONT SEE A GREEN LIGHT UPON TOUCHING THE T/S THEN TRACE WIRES OFF T/S BACK TO WHAT THEY GO INTO ?? IT HAS TO BE A DEAD CONTROLLER OR NO POWER TO CONTROLLER
3M HAS 3 WIRES ORANGE IS 12 VOLTS DC + GREEN GRND BLACK GRND PICTURE INCLUDED OF MICRO TOUCH CONTROLLER BOTH SIDES .
YOU MAY HAVE A ELO TOUCH SCREEN --EASY WAY TO FIND OUT ON POT OF GOLD IS TURN THE KEYS ETC GET INTO MAIN BOARD SETTINGS ON LEFT SIDE OF SCREEN AND IT WILL SAY WHAT YOU HAVE AND ARE USING FOR A TOUCH SCREEN OR PRINTER ETC . THATS THE BEST PART OF THE POT OF GOLD ITS DOCUMENTATION ONBOARD IS FANTASTIC ALONG WITH ACCOUNTING IS FANTASTIC . ..

SEE IF THIS HELPS YOU OUT .. THE LAST THING I CAN THINK OF IF IT DOES NOT WORK ??
IT BELONGS IN MY HOUSE !!!  LOL SO SEND ME A FOR SALE PRICE .. HANG ON FOR PICTURES

moderator i would combine his pot of gold problem into one thread .
i answered it on the anti cheat device pot of gold post . before he goes posting in multiple areas ??
no offense to poster . it would be best if combined before there are a dozen threads on the same subject .
just my 25 cents opinion .

Just noticed something but its no big deal & has nothing to do with your problem --your photo #
 photo.JPG (865.94 KB, 1632x1224 - viewed 6 times.)

its of your main board POT OF GOLD its not a original LEISURE TIME PRODUCTS BOARD -ITS A CHINA KNOCK OFF .
how do i know this ??? first it does not say "LEISURE TIME PRODUCTS " in big bold print in middle  just t-340
plus i had a pile of knock offs myself & can recognize them a mile away .. little differences in them

.. they actually were a very well made board at a super price and I never had a board come back .

THIS POST HAS BEEN MODIFIED I INCLUDED A PICTURE OF YOUR PICTURE .. THIS MESS NEEDS LOOKING INTO
ITS THE DB-9 CABLE FROM LCD CONNECTED TO THE POT OF GOLDS T/S HARNESS CONNECTOR THAT GOES TO THE ETHERNET CONNECTOR ON BOARD ..THIS MESS IS HELD TOGETHER WITH BLACK TAPE YOU DONT KNOW IF ITS FULLY SEATED OR NOT ??
OR EVEN CONNECTED ?? I WOULD PLASTIC TIE THE TWO CABLES TOGETHER OR SHRINK WRAP IT SINCE IT CAN BE UNPLUGED ON EACH END . THATS NOT UP TO OSHA TECHS  STANDARDS LOL

All the prongs on the power cord are still attached including the third ground prong. I actually bought a ESD(electro static discharge) wrist strap for the user and it seems to be working fine so you are right it is the user not being properly grounded especially on carpet. I will do more testing to make sure the problem doesn't come back. You were the only one who pinpointed my problem with your expertise. I was getting the runaround from others on the forum so I thank you for your help. I will update you with any issues that I come across.

THANK YOU FOR THE KIND WORDS --WHEN YOU HAVE WORKED ON THEM 20 + YEARS -- YOU LEARN ALL THE TRICKS THEY DO + WHAT TO LOOK FOR ETC ..I admit  I still use the manual at times .. but the manual does not cover what room to use it in with what kind of flooring etc . cutting off the ground prong on plug etc . it boils down to common sense in most cases with the big word "theory"of how it works . that was my main course of training in trade school as a kid . if you dont understand the "theory" of how something is made & how it works you will never understand how to repair it ..
