:104-I just bought a Double Diamonds slot through an auction, and was going to give it to my son-in-law, but don't know what I need to do to get it operational for him. It powers on, and I've got the keys to it, both sets, but don't know much else.
Is there anyone local in the DFW, TX area that might point me in the right direction? Thank you.

The more information the better.. Describe whats happening (numbers showing, etc) and i'm sure you'll be up and running in no time.. Can even add a picture if possible.

Welcome to NLG.. You've come to the right place.

I was going to try and post a .wmv video, but it's still to large. Is there anywhere I can post a small video?

Why don't we start with a photo of the machine along with a brief description of what's happening once turned on.

Not much happening, lights up, I got the wheels to spin once when turning the key to the side putting the machine in different, I guess a programming, mode.

If you want to go with the video, you can post it to Youtube. Then just post the link in your next post

You've got a low memory battery on the MPU located on the lower back wall of the machine. Turn machine off before removing any boards or plugs on the machine. Do you have the coin hopper for this machine?

No, just the dollar bill box. It doesn't take any bills or coins, but I figgured the coins was because of not having a hopper.?

It's not going g to do much of anything till it gets a new CMOS battery. Along with that you'll need a programming chip to make the bill validator work and probably a clear chip in case you have issues after the battery change. Last but not least, and I could be wrong, but I believe the S+ models need a coin hopper or bypass plug installed to operate. All things you can get from vendors here on the site at a reasonable price by placing a wanted to buy ad in the classified section. Any help you need with issues along the way can be gotten right here also, just post the queztions you might have in the IGT S+ forum and we'll help you out

After you do all the above, you might want to check your coin comparitor. It should slide to the left and "encase" the sample coin. It's too far right. The spring may have come off.
And your machine says 50 cents and the sample coin is a quarter, so I assume it had been converted to quarters at some point in time.

Thank you. I guess I just need to figure out now where and what exactly I need to post for. I wish there was someone close to the DFW area.

A member named morespeed is in your area if he's still around. The things I listed above should get you taken care of parts wise. Those machines are actually really simple to work on and having someone else do might ad a fair chunk to your investment

Just did a quick Ebay search and found this.. It comes with everything you need to get started.
(Note: you will need a soldering iron and solder along with this if you don't already have one)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/IGT-TUNE-UP-KIT-FOR-S-PLUS-SLOT-MACHINES-INCLUDES-BATTERY-LIGHTS-RESET-EPROMS-/121117008687?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c3322e32f

-After this you will need a few more parts depending on the outcome and preference..

Thanks. I tried to buy, but sellers PayPal wasn't accepting payment or something to that effect, so I sent him an email.
Do you know if any of these hoppers would fit my model?

Probably the s plus hopper, since you have an s plus, but it's INSANELY overpriced.  ttth
I've paid that for an entire machine. Check some of the venders HERE on NLG. CV Slots, Blue Ridge, etc...

The hopper is going to depend on what coins you will be using ($1?,25c? etc). Once you figure that out you can post a "Wanted to buy/WTB" here or find one on ebay.

Also, If you want you can copy and post this under the classified section.. I'm sure someone will help you out quickly. In the description you can also mention needing a hopper.

-WTB: S+ Battery, set and clear chips.-
