Hello to all--Bought a Bally S5500 with U18, U20 mains.  Battery was dead in it so I replaced it and did a reset and now all I am getting is 2.0. flashing in the winners led and no bill validator working.  My board resets using a jumper on the MPU and it is resetting OK.  What I am doing wrong??  THis is my first S5500 so bear with me  Thanks in advance.  Ted  Scratch Head

2.0. or a 2x code in WIN PAID means a coin jam check the following:

1. If jammed, open the door and remove the acceptor module. Once removed, coins can be gently extracted with a small screwdriver or similar tool.
2. Confirm the Coin Optic Decoder board optic sensors and prism are clean. Dirt can block the light path and prevent proper operation.

Just got into looking at this and coin comparator light is not on and I am wondering if this is working at all.  Is there a way to bypass this to see what happens.  Thanks for the info.  Ted

Error code 20 is a Coin-In Jam, so check your coin path and see what's going on....But are you sure that's an error code and not just a statement? Could it, by chance, be the Win on the last game played? Is there a winning combo on the reels?

It's an error code as coins just dropped through into tray and do not register on counter.  Could be the coin comparitor is at fault.  Is there a way I can bypass the security on this and just let the coin be counted??  Thanks guys for the comments and suggestions.  I am new at this and learning.

I'd suggest running the Input Test.  All input signals to the machine can be checked including the coin comparator.   Follow the procedure in the manual and confirm you get the correct responce when a coin goes through.

Cheers,
Mark

Just had a similar problem, turned out one of the three wires going into the left side of the comparitor was broken off at the harness.

Might want to check the wires.
