When I turn on my IGT PE Poker game it will not accept a coin, they drop right through.    To make it work again I need to reset the machine a few times or keep dropping coins in, after a while it will start to accept them.  After it accepts the first coin it will continue to accept them until next shutdown and restart.  Any Ideas what to check?

Some additional Info:

If I shut it off for only a couple minutes it will still take coins when powered back up, it is normally overnight shutdown that causes it to not accept coins.

If I leave credits on the game overnight, it will play the credits OK, but once the credits are gone it will not accept coins.

When you say "they drop right through", are you saying they are rejected to the coin tray?

I'd suspect that the rake (and solenoid) that normally gets engaged to let coins pass when the machine is ready to accept a coin might be flaky (either binding on something, or not engaging properly when the coil is being energized).  It's been so long since I've had to work on the coin-in handling stuff, though, hopefully someone else will be able to chime in with what specific part you should be looking at.

After a little more testing, it seems like it need to be warmed up for a few minutes before it will accept coins.   It has a regular arcade type coin mech (not a comparator) with a small electronic device setting under the coin mech. that the coin falls through.
