The small round 3 volt flat battery on the 3902, tests 2.7 V.  What does that control and can it be replaced without resetting?

This is your RAM or CMOS battery when it getts to low you will get main battery low error. You do not need to do a ram clear, it will do a partial clear when you remove the battery, just turn your jackpot key and follow the on screen instructions to clear the RAM error.

since a new battery needs to be soldered in, replace it with a battery holder, so future changes only involve slipping in a new coin cell.

   :141Can someone please tell me were the battery is? Mine shows low battery and I can't pick it up to take to repair man.would really appreciate the help

If you turn the machine off and pull the MPU tray out you will see the battery on the board. It is a 3v coin cell either in a clip holder or soldered on. Of you can't do it yourself and have a Batteries Plus close to you they can do it for you

a 2.7v battery will definitely give you a low battery warning,  and will haunt the game until you replace the battery,

however, if you're having trouble finding the cpu/mpu, probably should have someone else look at the machine,  -you can really do some damage if you don't know what you're doing,
find a computer geek to help you with the battery,  busting your soldering cherry on an expensive board isn't recommended -a misplaced drop of solder or overheating board with the iron can cost you the cpu board.

maybe you can find some instruction on you-tube etc.

 ALWAYS POWER OFF MACHINE BEFORE TOUCHING ANYTHING INSIDE MACHINE!!!  removing boards etc. with power on can/will damage the I/O board(s).

Thank you! I think I found it . I was very careful and I did have the machine shut off and unplugged. I'm going to batteries plus with the board tomorrow ! Smiley Thank you so much! Hope this fixes her Smiley
