My Bally V-5500 poker machine works great (except for my ongoing fight with the bill validator). My problem is I drew 4 aces and the backglass says 400 credits but it only paid 150. Is this a ROM issue? I could not see anything on the setup screens about changing payouts. Thanks, Gary.

I have now also noticed that two pairs is only paying 5 when, according to the backglass it should pay 10 (with 5 coins in).

Post pictures of the rom chips on the
main board and some one can check to
make sure you have the right Roms.

Thanks for the reply, Proten! I was not able to figure out how to post a pix here so I sent them to you email. Is an incorrect ROM chip something that I'll be able to find? Thanks, Gary

Just a thought here...  maybe  the glass is wrong...      i.e.  mismatch game eproms  vs  glass package.

So you may have  to look for  "correct"  glass  or  "correct"   eprom/programs

I suspect it's the wrong program chip as the top and bottom glass match. How do I go about determining what chip to get and where to find it? Thanks, Gary

If the payouts on the glass do not match the payouts of the chips, then you have a mismatched set. Either the glass OR the chips will need to be replaced, to make the set correct. One may be easier to find than the other. Swapping glass would be a lot simpler process than the chips, although swapping the chips is totally doable as well.

If you can provide pics of the glass you have currently, maybe someone has a stash of it with the payout you need.

Anyone have any ideas about my V-5500 payout problem? I've been looking for glass that would match my payout but so far all the Bally (and IGT which seems to be the same size) all have the same payouts as mine (with 5 coins in, 10 for 2 pair, 400 for 4 aces). My machine works perfectly but only pays 5 on 2 pairs, 125 on 4 aces. This seems to be a rather uncommon payout for this vintage machine given all the glass (and machines) I've been able to look at. Thanks, Gary

Thanks for the reply! Yours is the first unit I've seen of that vintage that has the same payout as my chips. Yours, however, displays the paytable onscreen. I guess this is a 3rd chipset that's out there for the V-5500s... Can you explain the play on the 'Two Jokers Wild' machine so I can watch on mine to determine if that's the chipset I have (or could you look at your chip labels and see it they match the numbers Paul posted above)? The display on that monitor matches mine (as opposed to your other machine).

I'm sure there's 10 to 15 (maybe more) different games/ chip sets for the  Bally Video pokers.  It's just difficult to find  a set that may match up with your  glass payout schedule.

As far as having the payout "on screen"  .... probably a dip switch  setting  or  in the  set-up settings.

I know   IGT  has that  "option"  of   "show payout" (on screen)    enable/disable.  ...then again, IGT  and  Bally  are  2 different  animals.

  That's all I can offer.

Thanks again for your reply! I hadn't realized the on-screen display was a switch option. Found that in the manual now have the correct payout onscreen. Now I can get by with just finding a plain 25 cent top glass and life will be good!

All the "Two Jokers Wild" is, there are two wild cards (Jokers)
in the deck of cards that the game uses.
