Just purchased a 1996 IGT machine and wondering if anyone knows where I can get a manual. I would like to see if I can adjust the machine to be a little less liberal! According to info I found regarding payout in another post, the machine is a 9-6, and maybe chip sets determine how liberal a machine is. In any case, a manual would really be nice.

Also attached a picture I found out here identifying volume control. I noticed the little "5" above the furthest card to the right. Mine displays same. Curious what it means? Doesn't seem to change.

The manual is not about the Double Double theme but rather the PE+ itself.
  You've Got Mail

The 5 indicates the number of coins played in the last game.
You will also find other gems like "Closure" showing that the door was closed prior to playing this game.

According to the picture you posted, the chipset in there is 8/5 Jacks or Better (not 9/6) (that is, it pays 8-for-1 on a Full House, and 5-for-1 on a Flush).  8/5 JoB is already an awful (by video poker standards) 97.3% payback -- why on earth would you want to lower that even more?

Here is a link to the Poker Games available for the PE+
http://www.newlifegames.net/igtbible/IGT%20Poker/Game%20Library%20-%20PE-Plus.htm

You can also find this under Ricks FAQs, IGT Game Bible, Poker

Different chipsets change the theme and %% payout.

When a chipset goes to the Nevada gaming board, they are tested against of a minimum 100 samples, each consisting of 10million plays and they must have less than a 1% standard deviation from the stated percentage payback.

Please remember that individual game results are based on a RNG (Random Number Generator) and not on any forced set of percentages.
%% payback is based on the probability that by having a certain number of defined outcomes as defined by the paytable it is most likely (probable) that over a large sample (10million plays) that the stated percentage will occur.

Ie flip a coin 10 times and you may have a 7:3 heads over tails result. Flip it 100 times and 560:440 becomes 5.4:4.6 which is statistically close to 50/50 which is what you would expect with 2 possible outcomes.

We have seen many people complain that their machine (slot, poker, keno) is paying out more than 100% - one guy cried, 3 jackpots in one week. Its all very possible based on a RNG but unlikely to happen again for a very long time. As Kevin stated 97% is a very tight machine by video poker standards.

Sorry to confuse. The picture I posted was of a similar machine, not mine. Trying to identify a character on screen only. I looked at the payout and my machine is 9 FullHouse and 6 Flush. Thanks to Jay the manual has been very helpful!!! My payout issue is primarily the double up option. I think there should be a way to set max double payout according to the manual, but I only have a double or no double setting when i run setup. No need to change the 9-6, and if it is chip set related, no way I will mess with it.
