I have a jackpot party and it plays 70's songs when you go to the party. Is it possible to upload different songs to the eproms and change them out often?

I think the answer is "not easily at all" unless you're a great code hacker and can figure out where and how they're stored.

They used different songs for Jackpot Country Party and Jackpot Beach Party. You could buy a set of sound chips for those games and use them with the regular Jackpot Party kit to get some variety. stir the pot / get cooking

the only difference between JP Party, JP Country and JP Beach is the music
and DOT files. So if you don't like the Village People YMCA, you can change
to JP Beach and get Wipe Out instead. Or JP Country and get the theme to
Monday Night Football (but with different words).  If you're gonna do that
though i would change the two DOT eproms too. But the XU2 and XU3
eproms stay the same for all 3 versions.  If you need the EPROM files just
send me an email and i'll point you in the right direction.

Clay, Thanks for the explanation as to the difference between the versions of Jackpot Party. Hail
I was looking through my chip sets and see the different themes.  Thanks for the info.

On my jackpot party it has the 4 songs and I notice that it has 4 4meg sound eprom chips u17, u18, u30, and u31.  These must be the individual song chips.  they are 4 megs chips which  is about the same size as an average mp3.  Has anyone tried just switching 1 and seeing if a different song comes up.

You JP Party does not use 4meg chips for the sound.
it uses 8meg 27c801 eproms. yes these contain the
songs. JP Party has the Village People songs (YMCA
and Macho Man.

JP Beach and JP Country only use 3 (instead of 4)
27c801 EPROMs for the songs. Hence there are
less songs (just Wipe Out and Monday Night Football
respectively). Hence one less chip.

You are right.   Hail I was using the manual which showed the 27c040 chip.  The actual chips on the board are clearly defined as 8 megs.

Actually, Jackpot Party had four songs by The Village People, not two: YMCA, Macho Man, That's The Way I Like It, and Get Down Tonight.

Yup, they were, but the songs play on my Jackpot Party just the same. Since they slot had a deal with The Village People and advertises them on the slot, I figured that they re-recorded the songs, but I could be wrong.  Scratch Head Maybe they actually are the original KC recordings used without any credit? (although they must have paid royalties)

<ADD>
Well, I listened to original recordings of the songs on YouTube (haven't heard them in decades other than on the JP) and you're right, they used the KC and the Sunshine Band's recordings on the Jackpot Party. I wonder why they didn't get any credit? Scratch Head
