I ran into another setting issue. Using the "self test" button I can advance to the "Double" or "No Double" option.  I do not however seem to have a setting for max payout on the double making it way too easy to run up high credits. You can Double as many times as you want and can hit for huge payout if you hit multiple times in a row. Not much of a challenge. Has anyone run into the issue? Maybe the Double limit is disguised in another setting somewhere? Thanks in advance for any ideas.

I'm not aware of any way to set a limit to the number of times a player can double-up.  Perhaps there's a fixed limit in the software, but there's not a way for the machine operator to specify a limit as to how many times you can double-up.

This is the second post of yours that has really raised my eyebrows as to what you're doing with your machine.  Your IP address puts you on the west coast of Florida, where owning a PE+ wouldn't even yet be legal.  More importantly, your postings have expressed concern about the payback percentage and payout amounts of your machine, which implies that you're using your machine to operate a live game for real money in your house or business.  This is a horrible idea, and is highly illegal.  This site primarily exists to assist home hobbyists with fixing their slot machines for legal, non-gambling entertainment usage.  We will not offer you assistance to run an illegal casino or illegal gambling device.

I am a bit offended, but the site is helpful. Your concerns aren't necessary. Hope getting it off your chest made you feel better.

When the game is easy to beat easily, it isn't much fun. Not much more to it than that. Not sure why my attempt to balance the machine would cause you to jump to your conclusions.  You can trust I have no reason to run a "live game" for "real money".  Not to be snotty, but Quarters aren't real money in my book, they might as well be tokens. The machine was a birthday gift for my wife, who enjoys the challenge playing it. The key being "challenge".

Back to the question. I think the way Double Up Bonuses may be managed is through a limit on winnings, not a limit on number of times a player can choose to double.

If you are not using the machine for actual gambling, please accept my apologies for any offense I caused.

I don't sweat small stuff. Thanks for the consideration. I think this forum is great, and hope my ability to participate isn't compromised. I just want to get the machine working optimally. I am pretty sure Florida law allows a person over the age of 20 to own a machine and use it for home entertainment. At least that seems to be what I saw searching web sites to purchase a machine in the first place.

If anyone is aware of a Tampa/Sarasota based repair person, I could use the contact. I have some intermittent problems with the hopper and think it might be a good idea to have someone shop the machine out to use an old pinball term.

It's not the age of the person, It's the age of the machine.
That's one of the things Knagl was trying to tell you. I wish they considered the age of the person because I'm old enough to be legal in every state.  Cry Laughing
