olymipc problems

l have a Olympic Night owl that used to work fine, it used to come up with logic seal error but it would clear in service mode but now it will boot and load to the logic seal error comes up but when l turn the key nothing happens, l cant get into the service menu, the door alarm doesn't chime or the door open warning doesn't come up, checked the switches are working and the power supply has the required voltages but nothing is working.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like a oa2 that needs ram clearing

If it is nsw you need clear chips.

It is in nsw.
So l need to replace the ram chips because the ram clear button does nothing?  Will unplugging the battery do it or will that wipe the whole lot out?

They are special programmed EPROMs

So do I need to get new ones or can they be cleared?

They are like the game EPROMs you need to burn them with EPROM programmer on to 512 EPROMs

What gaming1 said is right except the main board reset chips use bigger EPROMs

I have a copy of the reset roms if u want to PM me.

The I/O reset is a 27c512

And the game reset chips are two 27c010 that are placed in the symbols eprom sockets on the main game board.

If u don't have a programer I'd burn for u if u send me the chips.

thanks chemstar I'd like to get this machine going again and l don't have a programer and l can send you the chips but first can you give me a run down on whats going on, the machine worked fine and one day
just stopped, I'm by no means a computer expert but l do understand a bit about them its just for my understanding of the machine that's all.

if l post a photo of the board can you point out what chips need to be removed?

While machine is off take out eprom ES3

Turn machine on wait for olympic boot screen press red reset button

Turn machine off put eprom back in and set machine up but you may need to use a I/O clear on the smaller pcb in the tray (somtimes i got away with just resetting with removing the eprom) If you get it to reset and buttons do nothing even after using I/O eprom then i have no idea i had a few pcbs like that could never fix them
