I just got this machine, and I had to replace the battery and then perform the whole clean and reset as it was dead for about a year.

I bought it not knowing it if worked.

it's a 1993 model

I got it working, but it will not accept more then 3 tokens at once ( max bet ).  and it will automatically cash out any and all winnings.

I tried to follow the manual and set the settings but it wont let me adjust page 0 option 10 settings.

I have the sp731 chip.

what I would like to do is get it to accept multiple coins and just store as credit. and then the winnings go into credit until cash out button is pressed.

help please.

I do not have a Bill machine. just coin only   .25c

The only way to have the machine pile up credits by inserting coins is to tokenize it.  It involves changing a chip in your mpu board and configuring options.  The way you have it now, it will only accept coins up to the max bet, which I am guessing is 3 coins.  You can have the machine pay to credits, by pushing the cash/credit button so that it is lit.

Option <O> [10] is set 0 and I can not change it.

Option <0> [11] is set to 0 and can not change it, from what I understand they both need to be set to 1

It is my understanding that you cannot enable SAS unless you have the casino back-end SAS server to handle the transaction.  As far as I know the only way to do what you want in a home setting is to tokenize.  For coin only machines, it is well worth it, since you can assign a credit value to a coin up to 99 credits.  So put a quarter in your machine and get 99 credits, and you can keep piling up the credits until you reach your credit limit.

That will let you put in hand fulls of coins into credit.

In your chip, your hopper limit, is also your credit limit.  You can set the dip switches 1 and 2 on the MPU for 300 (off off), 400 (on, off), 600 (off, on) and programable (on, on), which is on option 7 in the self test menu.  I believe you can go as high as 9999, but you have a really old chip, so I'm not entirely sure.

You don't need to tokenize, but you do need a chip that supports Montana Credits (or "semi-Euro credit") to accomplish your goal of having the machine accept more coins than the maximum bet and store them as credits.  The standard behavior for a S+ machine is to only accept coins up to the limit of the game kit (in your case, 3 coins).  Any additional coins are then rejected to the tray, unless you have a SP chip that supports Montana Credits, in which case excess coins are added to the credit meter.

You can try posting a WTB ("Want To Buy") in the Classifieds section of the forum, or contact any of the vendors found on the front page of NewLifeGames.net who may be able to help you.  You're looking for a IGT S+ SP1137 chip.  While I don't think you'll need the SET chip to enable the Semi-Euro ("Montana" style credit) setting, you will need a SET chip if you ever decide you want to go down the tokenization route that rickhunter was talking about earlier.  It might not be a terrible idea to also get a SET86 chip while you're at it so you have that option for the future. 

If you tokenize, you could set up your machine as a "penny" machine, and set it up to give 25 credits for every quarter you drop in.  It would also pay accordingly -- if you had 100 credits and cash out, it would only dispense four quarters, not 100.  Food for thought.
