Hi All-

I have a 1996 IGT S+ machine.  It originally was a Double Diamond game that was converted to a Red White & Blue game (prior to my ownership).  I just converted it back to the Double Diamond and now I have a 65 3 code displayed.

I changed the reel prom and then installed BV Set chip.  That process seemed to go well.

I then installed the Game chip.  Everything seemed to go as it should, until the last step-

I had the 61 on power up
I pushed the test button and I heard a "ding" and then 61 1 was displayed
I then closed the door and turned the "jackpot rest" key and now I have the 65 3 displayed

Any thoughts on what went wrong or what I need to do?

Thank you

Turn your Jackpot reset key one more time.

65_3 - Game options & meters not in most current format. Turn jackpot reset key to continue power-up procedure.  Game will be upgraded to most current format.

After a game change, always get the machine up and running with coins first. Then use the Set chip to re-enable the BV.

Thanks CVslots.  It sounds like I had the order incorrect for the Game/BV chip.

I did turn the reset key again and 65 2 came up.  I turned it again and 01 was displayed and the "spin wheels" was illuminated.  I waited a bit, and then pressed the spin wheels button.  Now the display alternates between;

01 01 and 0000 0000

Spin wheels is still illuminated.  If I press it again, the credits played will go up- 01 02, 01 03, 01 04...... but it still alternates with 0000 0000.

I wondering if I need to reinstall the RWB reel and game chip and then start over with the DD?

No, you're just in the menu now. Just key all the way through it. Watch the screen as you flick the key. When you get to the BLANK screen, flick one more time, and WAIT. This will take you to the 65-2 again. Then:

65_2 - Game type mismatch

Open door and press self test button for 1 to 2 seconds.

That took care of it!  Thank you so very much.

The machine is accepting coins, but the BV is not operational.  I'm guessing that is because I installed the BV chip before the game chip, which means I should go through the BV process again.  Would you agree?

yes, that is the correct way. No credits should be on the machine when you do this.
