I don't have my notes with me, but hopefully you know how to get into the menu by pushing the white button and using your key. Start with 0 credits on machine.  You need to go to option 9 and it should be set to 9-1. If you can't change it like that you will need a BV set chip. I'll check back tommorrow to see if you still need help.

im not too sure about the menu area. my machine has the button on the backside of the power switch and then i have the keyswitch on the side. when i press or switch them it looks like a menu area with values and such but im not sure whats what or how to change them.

When you say "light's up" do you mean the lights on the side of bv or the entry bezel that say's insert bills here?

there is a switch on the side of the ZT1102.  as you look at the machine it would be on the right hand side , lower bottom. its a three way toggle switch, it has the legends on the side to tell you where to put it. my guess yours is all the way up. push it to the middle position, then it should work.

Hope this helps

my zt1102 only has 8 dip switches on the left hand side of it not 3way switch. all the dip switches are down in the "on position". when i say it lights up i mean im seeing the red lights come on inside of the bv itself, as well as the insert bills light on the front, that one flashes. should all my dip switches be down??

Sorry, I thought you got it. There is a link on here, but I can't find it. Maybe google it. You can print out the troubleshooting manual for DBV200. The light flashing has me stumped. It usually stays lit unless the machine is playing or the credit limit has been reached. Have you tried cleaning the contacts on the plugs? I had one not lighting at all. The small plug on right was dirty. Sprayed some contact cleaner on it and worked it on and off a couple times.

Here's the manual from JCM's site.  The dip switch settings are on page 11.  http://jcmglobal.com/Libraries/Product_Manuals/DBV-200.sflb.ashx
Hope this helps

That's a Mars validator...maybe try the MEI website, but I don't know how friendly the site is. Only ZT11xx I've seen has been in Odyssey machines.

I have a Mars ZT1102-US bill validator on my "Frankenstein" test machine rig.
All 8 dip switches on the left side of the unit are in the down position.

This bill acceptor I've NEVER upgraded and I really don't know if it can ever be?
It only takes the older U.S. currency with the "small heads" on the face of the bills.

You want to go with a wba 23.  Easy to update and readily available.

If you buy one, you should get it Canadian software already, why go the extra step?  That being, said, the wba23 is eprom based, so if you get one without Canadian software, you can always buy the eprom and swap it.

Is your current bill validator a DBV or a WBA? Do you know what model it is? If not, post pics and we will go from there!  yes
