If I convert my 4 reel game with LED reels to a 3 reel with LED reels, do I need a different backlit controller? Obviously, the harness and the shelf will be different - is that all???

You will not need to change the BL Control Board. You're good there.

I've had LED reels for 3reel slant top before and they were a whole different animal than what you commonly see in S2000 uprights. Are LED reels available for the upright? And what is required equipmentwise for a changeover. If I recall, and it's tuff because I sold the setup to a guy in Texas like a year ago, all the harness's reel shelf, reels and backlight controller where completely different from incandescent stuff.

Glad I'm not the only one this is not "common" to...I don't know that I've seen upright LED reels, almost sure I haven't, but that doesn't mean much...

After i posted, and thought a out it a little more,I thought I was just out of the loop (hey, wouldn't be the first time, surely won't be the last), but I may have to retract my statement Danny. I'm in unchartered territories right now, so I can't really advise. I would not think IGT would go
through the trouble to make 2 different BL control boards, but hey....stranger things have happened.

Do you have the reels already??

Thanks for the information provided here. I've swapped out a 3 reel backlit machine with a 4 reel LED setup - back and forth multiple times. That includes the shelf, all harness and controller.  I figured it would be cool to have an LED conversion kit for my 3 reel games. I did some searches and read a few threads on this topic. I noticed that members here have these LED reels. I can post a WTB or WTT ad in the classifieds to see what I can find.

I've been to some casinos with tons of s2000's that are all 3 reel LED backlit. Soaring Eagle in Mt. Pleasant and the Gun Lake Casino in Grand Rapids. Even up in Petoskey at the Odawa casino.

Oh, I don't have the reel baskets for the 3 reel LED's Roz. Off to the classifieds I go...
