Slot machines are addicting

« on: September 23, 2013, 08:23:10 PM »

After searching hundreds of post i finally came across one about this and thought i would share..ive got an old e/m 989 with 24 mini bulbs behind the reel glass..14 of which were burned out..some machines only have 2 screws about a imch from the top of the frame..mine has 2 extra allen head bolts that needed to be removed....even after that it didnt come easy..my guess is that years of spilled cocktails seeped into the frame..after a bit of force the frame came out...then you can take it apart and pull the belly glass out..my glass was also stuck and i sprayed some electrical cleaner around the frame, ran a thin blade around it, and used a wooden ruler as a punch to shock the frame a bit..its sure going to be nice to see it all lit up..and a special thanks to old reno for all his post on trouble shooting..id still be blowing fuses if it werent for his posts..hope this helps Jim K-falls

I have a 989 and dread when one of those lights burn out.  I have to have all lights working all of the time or I will go crazy.  The machine does look great when all thie lights are working and its all lit up.  Enjoy your new bright machine!

Well, when you drive by my house on your scoot, please don't rev it too loudly if it's late at night, ok?
My only saving grace is that I'm nearly deaf.
