Newbie to forum! Just replaced 3.6v batt on mpu board and am havin same issue as loop 61 issues described in another forum. Git the 61 then 61 1 on win pd and credits. Problem is its cont cycle. Now when closin door and hittin reset key on outside, the screen says winner pd 9, credits 5 and coins played is goin from 0 to 1 to blank, and flashin back in same sequnce. Watched video of another member who unhook batt and reinsert board and resolder batt. did that and still have cont loop 61 issues. Thanks in advance fer any help with this. new

Read the Common problems FAQ.  I don't know if you have access to either a clear chip or an SP chip that is very different from yours.

+1 (Karma, or whatever) THanks fer the quik reply rick. I guess next steps will be to git a clear chip or another game chip. I curently have a SS3741 in my mpu board. It just seems as though the 61 code is clear and then it will go back into the never endin loop. After powerin up/down and resetin w / white button. I have read so much info here it is kinda overwhelming and not sure were to start since it is all new. Thanks again fer the help and any add. help.

Very often it is the door optics. Sometimes just dirt on the optic.  What you stated sounds like when you closed the door with 61-1 and turned the key you went into option menu. Your ss 3741 is the % chip. I am guessing you have sp 1274 with it. Put a piece of tape on the cabinet and mark the center of the optic then do the same on the door. Close door and wheck the marks. They have to line up for machine to boot up

I'm with the rockingelvis, I would look to verify if your optics are working right.  With the power on, look at the optics through a digital camera or your camera phone, you should be able to see some blinking out of the emitter, if you don't your optics are bad.  Make sure the lens on the optics are clear.  Unfortunately there's no way to "see" if the receiver works, but if the emitter is not doing anything, then it's definitely bad.

Rick thanks fer the quik reply.  new I have sony digital camara w 4xoptical zoom and tried both optics on door and cabinet. The door optic on camara screen has a purplish glow but no blinkin. The one on cabinet is dark. I would suspect what you said is corect, Curious if optics can be bypased with direct wirin to bypass them. Thanks again to all fer the help.

It should look like this when viewed through the camera viewfinder, click on photo to get video.  I can't seem to embed a video from photobucket.

If your optics don't work, that would explain why, when you close the door after getting the 61 1, turning the reset key doesn't clear it.  The door must be closed with optics working for the reset key to clear the error.  I would try another set of optics, they are inexpensive enough so that even if that is not what is wrong, you will have a spare.

When you get your new set only the cabinet side will need adjusting. Use the tape and marks again. Worst case you have to remove the reel glass so you can see them with door closed.

Unless I missed it in the videos, he's never getting the 61-1.  He's in a loop where it shows 61, he presses and hold the Self Test button, the display goes blank, then returns to 61.  I think he may need a clear chip.

His first post said he was getting the 61-1. Seeing the video, I agree he is not. You may need to hold the white test button 3-5 seconds until you get 61-1 and sometimes a ding. But seeing the display flicker on all the lit numbers makes me think a corroded connection. With power OFF remove your MPU board and check all the pins on the bottom are straight. Then unplug and replug ALL connections on backplane motherboard. When you changed your battery had it leaked all over it? I had a machine that leak down the MPU and all over the motherboard. And one more thing, when you do get the 61-1 you MUST close the door and latch it down before turning the reset key. Turning the key with door open will always take you to the 9--5--0
