I've replaced the BNC connector on my O scope and
 I broke a small ceramic capacitor.
It is marked (0.001 P), is this the same as a 0.001 uf ?
The Tektronix manual says that it is a adjust as needed
for calibration so no help there.

not sure, I searched the 0.001 P and all that comes back is 0.001 uf .

Found lots of 0.001 M & Z, no P.

1 microfarad is 1,000,000 picoferads. If you google .001 picoferads there are a few listings. Mouser may have what you need or the people that made the scope

I think it is  0.001 uF with a tolerance code of P (+100%, -0%)

1 pF is the practical smallest capacitor made.
Any smaller and the circuit's parasitic (stray) capacitance would dominate the capacitor when value is below 1 pF.

I'm sure Fosters right, but why would they print the cap with the tolerance and not the capacitance? Scratch Head Tolerance is irrelevant information to print on the cap if you don't know the capacitance value I would think.
