I worked for several years as a slot floorperson in Vegas and for the life of me I cant seem to get my newly acquired IGT tabletop Keno machine. My need for help comes from the fact that I can't figure out why the pen want work. I got the machine from a coworker and It worked good, she did have the pen replaced and it was functioning fine. Then it just stopped working. The screen has 9468 credits and says mark numbers all input test check out. I put a new monitor in it and got a new coin accepitor for it. It also, has a bill validator in it which was one of the first one installed. for some reason I cant get the validator out. Now I remember  how to do that, And, It wont come out I can hear it reseat but light doesn't come back on. I'm stuck please give me some direct to go in.  Crazy

For starters, can you tell us what model of machine you're working on?

Unfortunately that number doesn't help. Is it a Player's Edge? A Player's Edge Plus? Game King?

If you don't know, if you can post a picture or two of the outside and the inside of the machine, we can help you figure it out. Thanks.

Sorry, but the picture you posted is of a PE+ keno machine, if the pen has been replaced, your problem might be in the amp board that the pen connects to. On your input test, does the light pen switch actuate on and off? As far as the BV, try turning the machine off and back on again, these machines have a bad habit of the BV falling asleep, rebooting will wake it up. If memory serves the BV on these games had a set screw on the side that prevents the transport from coming out, if it still has it, you will have to remove it to get the BV assembly out.

I agree with Firebird -- that's a PE+ (or maybe PE? ...but there's a bill validator which points to it being a PE+) "Spot Keno" keno machine with a light pen.  I'll move this topic to the PE+ section.

On the self-test screens is there a light pen test, and does it work?

There was discussion about the light pen in this four-page thread about a member trying to get a light pen working on a machine that didn't initially have it.  Some gems of wisdom can be found in the posts and pictures:
