I'm having an issue with an s2000. It went into a coin in jam and door open m. Replaced door optics, and replaced all boards, even re-keyed the game, but still to no avail. I am completely out of ideas. The coin in jam is not my main concearn, since I jumpered the comparitor as it is a tito game. The problem is the door open m that I cannot get to clear. ????

Sounds like you may have an issue with your door optics, check them for proper alignment. The wires on them are brittle where the connect to the optics and may be broken.

The optics are working as they were pulled out of another machine. Thats why I am so completely lost. Optics are known good optics.

Go into I/O test . Door optics should  change from 1 to 0 back and forth if optics are working . P.B.

I have swapped everything with the other machine, one piece at a time and still no good. Door open m.  Swapped out the display, all boards/cards...door optics. Finally got the game to do something at all which was a ram error. Now when its turned on it needs a few turns of the attendant key and then asks to shut the main door......which doesn't work!!

Did you do what Plunger boy asked?  What were the results?

Are you putting the door latch all the way down when closing?
Are you sure the optics are properly aligned ?

Optics are properly alligned. I'm thinking however of trying an optic bypass just for testing.

This is the easiest way to test the optics.  You will know immediately if your door optics are working.  No need to swap out parts or bypass.

Well, we can't get that point now because of the ram error. Which won't clear because m  door won't show secure.

I was thinking bad trace under green battery, but since you tried another working board, I guess that is ruled out. Has to be the optics either broken (yes the one's you got could be bad) or not lined up. Put a peice of painters tape on the cabinet and the door and mark the location of the optics. Close the door and see. Alot of these doors sag from the weight.

" Ram Error "  Turn the jackpot key 3 or 4 times and then follow the VFD instructions.  " Coin Error " may or may not have anything to do with the coin handling.

Now that the ram error is cleared, open and close the main door latch 3 or 4 times. Your new here so I'll explane why, A S 2000 will stack errors and one and only one error at a time will be cleared each time you open and close the main door.
