Hello All:

I just purchased my first IGT machine (S2000?) and hope to get a couple for my future basement gameroom and bar.  The one that I purchased is a Triple Diamond multi-line slot with a rounded top and progressive display.  The progressive display shows $0.00 right now and I would love to figure out how to get it to read another dollar amount, count up, or another message.  How can I do this?  There is some sort of box in the top of the machine that plugs into the display, and then shows the $0.00.

I appreciate any help you can offer and am excited to be joining the world of slots.  This may end up being a fun hobby!

Thanks,
Mike

Nice machine! S2000 it tis.

And looks like you have a Mikohn progressive meter. Have you removed the top glass yet? You can find out the model of the prog, and the pros may be able to help get you set up.

Be very careful removing glass!!!

Ok All:

I have attached a couple photos of the Progressive Box and back of the display for your review.  I have also noted a few numbers and have them below.

The back of the progressive display looks like two boards: the board with the actual display on the front (Part #341-009-80) and a board that is plugged into that (Part# 341-010-30).  I also noted the following printed on the display board (12C, MICRO, CHAM2).

Inside of the top part of the machine there is a rectangular metal box that looks like a power supply with a board on the top of it (See photos).  This must be the controller box for the progressive?  I noted the following on its board (Part# 341-075-00 / CHAM 2+).  Additionally there is a single dip switch that seems to enter it into some type of setup mode, but I cannot seem to do anything.  The display shows Display = Menu when I flip the switch, and when I flip back it shows $0.00.

I am looking forward to your help here, thanks a bunch!

Mike

Having a CHAM II+ is a good thing, as it can run as a 'Stand alone' progressive. I have never programmed one myself but it seems to be harder then the push of a few buttons. You have to connect to an external Laptop and program it. I'm sure some people with knowledge on them will chime in.. In the meantime, check out this link and see what you can find. Tons of info here!

Good Luck!

Yep, that's an S2000 with a Mikohn ChamII+ stand-alone progressive controller.  I'm moving this topic to the Mikhon section since the question pertains to how to program the meter.  As Harvs said, dig through the Mikohn category and you'll find lots of posts involving programming a ChamII+.  As he said, you'll need a laptop (or a nearby desktop), preferably with an older operating system and an actual serial port on the back of the computer.  You'll also need to make a special serial cable to talk to the Mikohn controller.

If you update your profile with your location, it's possible that there's another member near you who might already have the computer/cable setup and can help you out.

Attached is CHAM II+ users manual and PSP 2.0 software.  I have done a few of these with success but I am no expert.  Someone will come in and help you out.

Thanks TJLee:

I think my first issue is not having an old computer laying around and being completely foreign to this subject.  I hope to learn as I go and that someone may be nearby with a setup.

Cheers,
Mike

We picked up an old laptop on eBay for like $40 that we use for PSP and other older programs. Maybe there's somewhere local as well?

Hi All:

Finally have a minute to play with this...  When I fire up the PSP software it is asking me for a password.  Any idea?

Thanks!
