Wouldn't it be easier to re-connect the wires? Or is part of the switch actually broken?

Thanks Styx. My machine is 100% functional and I'd like to keep it that way. I realize I can jump the wires the reboot from the 61 1 code, but replacing the switch and doing the job right is just as easy.

Sorry, I didn't mean jump the wires together, I meant connect them back to the switch so the switch works. You said the wires came off, can you solder them back on?
That's all I meant.

Home use there is really no need for a key switch, replace the broken key switch with a button switch.

ez8631, I completely understand wanting to keep your machine original.
If you need a key switch, I'll send you a new one. Just send a donation to the site as it looks like you've been registered since February 02, 2010 and have not made a contribution since. Send me a PM and I'll put it in the mail.
