I would like to buy a SB001000 base chip so that I can use an S+ program on a S2000 game.

Also I am under the impression that the SS chip needs to be a 120ns chip. If that is correct, does anyone know if I use my legally backed up SS chip program on a chip with the right speed, will it work? And if that is the case what chip can I use?

Any of the vendors above can provide you with an SB001000 and yes you need a chip of 120ns to work with the S2k Board, as for being legal, is this for home use or are you an operator?

It is my personal program. Do you happen to know what chip would match that description?

It's kind of difficult to find a 27C64 eprom that is fast enough but I've had pretty good luck using 27C256 eproms and off setting the files 4 times. Or use a 27C512 and off set 8 times.

27c512 - burn the OEM 27c64 file one time no offset, works perfect in the s2000. (will not work in the s-plus this way)

Hey Coors, or anyone who can help, I am having issues doing what you suggested. I keep getting the system error saying that the "ss chip is stupid and will never work and your are a failure" error and then I key it... and hold the test switch... and shut the door... and wait and then it comes back... and I cry.

I have some M27c512 - 15f6 chips and I am using the program from a Ncm27c64 200 that does not work in the s2000 (because its slow) and I burned it onto the new chips and its not working. I have tried burning the program as if it is a M27c512 and as a Ncm27c64 and had no luck.

Any suggestions?

I use a hex editor program called HxD it can be down loaded for free. You can probably just use your eprom burner.  Open up the bin file, copy once and paste eight times ( 512 ÷ 64 = 8 )  If you were using a 27C256 as a new chip you would paste 4 times.( 256 ÷ 64 = 4 )  Now save as, here you will have to give it a new name, I just add 512 to the old name. OK now burn the file that you copied and pasted 8 times.

There may be other ways but this one works.

Ok it looks like my burner program and the HxD program allow me to do the same thing. But just to be clear I should copy all of the information left of the offset column and just paste it right back there for a total of 8 repeats? Or original +7 depending on how you look at it?

I open the file with HxD, click  Select all,  click copy, click paste to make a new file that has the bins in the new file 8 times. click save as with a new name.

Scratch Head Is there no SB chip available for the S+ theme you're wanting to use?

Just wondering. I know there are several S+ themes not available on the S2000 platform, but it's sure better to use the SB equivalent if you can.

The ss number is missing. The label is missing in just the right spot.

I found a ss number though. It is for Jackpot Devil but it doesn't directly match my game though. It is SS3364.

You can read that Reel chip with your burner and in the buffer right at the bottom it will give you the SS number. If your needing the second SS chip for a S 2000 read the one you have, save the file and do the offset for the S 2000.
