SP269???
Holy ancient archives Batman! That's OLD!!!!
I don't have anything on that!
That's like finding a part for a friggen Model-T Ford!

Sounds like you've changed the Sample coin.
Have you swapped out the coin comparitor or adjusted the coin sensitivity dial?
How about bending the "rake" back or propping it out so it goes through the coin-in optics?

I have no idea why the machine is giving you a credit just by pulling out/reinstalling the MPU board?
Did a coin actually come out and hit the coin tray?

I swapped the cc with the unit in my poker machine and still not working.  No coin came out but added it to the number of coins paid.  The hopper works if I tell it to under diagnostics mode and pays out 10 coins.

Someone one just inboxed me and suggested something.
Your SP chip is very rare...pull it out and save it.
Try something else newer maybe like an SP731 or SP1271?

Could he have something along the lines of a shorted jackpot reset keyswitch? Might be worth a try to disconnect the wires from it and close the door to see if it resets. Sounds like the problem started when he turned the key to reset the jackpot

I thought about that earlier Cowboy, but I suggested he perform the Output Tests.
That would require flipping the Reset keyswitch to get to test #24 to check the optics.
It's moot tho now because we know his door optics are working.

The only tests I know for sure he did are the Test button Output tests.
Input Tests #10,11,and 12 would check his coin-in optics.
Input Tests #16 would check his pull-handle.
Input Tests #17 would check the Reset keyswitch.
and so on and so on.
I'd be swapping that SP outta there by now for sure.

Why in the world would it be adding credits by merely pulling an MPU out and reinstalling it? lol
Sounds like a bad chip or stuck logic signal but that goes against the fact that the MPU is adding a credit for different reasons.
Perhaps the old Clear chip could help him in this instance?

Where can I get a new sp chip?

Just place a WTB (wanted to buy) ad in the Classifieds section of NLG
and hopefully someone can help you with whatever you need for your machine.  yes

The strange thing is you never said to us that you ever got into the "Accounting" mode of the machine's internal accounting system
although you've indicated that you've turned the Reset key several times.
Normally, to perform a Jackpot hand-pay, one flip of the Reset key is all that's needed.
Most newbies flip the Reset key again only to find themselves in the Accounting Mode.

I'd hate for you to go out and buy stuff without letting us know the results of the Input Tests I suggested above.
Also, do you know if the "Coin Accepted" lamp is any good?
You are allowed to swap it with the coin denomination lamp as they are the same kind of lamps.

I would also try cowboy's suggestion of disconnecting one of the Reset keyswitch's wires.
That may help remove any stuck logic signal from the keyswitch wiring.

There are three mechanical meters inside of the machine (coin in, coin out & coin drop).  The coin in is at 309999 and will not change to 310000 but it tries.  Turning the key the second time does nothing and only turns one way with two wires connected to it.  I have tried disconnecting the wires from the switch and nothing happens.  When did output test #42 the light did light (coin accepted) but is out when just turned on.  Will try the input tests

Another note I can only get into the test sections by moving one of the reels to a out of line position.

Forget about the meters. They are old and no more good.
Has nothing to do with the present problem.

The "Coin Accepted" lamp is not burned out.
You have credits on the display but you cannot add them to play another game.

May need a spare MPU board.
The MPU signals are corrupted.
Weird machine behavour.

Buy a Clear chip, wipe everything out.
You should install a newer SP chip. (SP1271 with SET088 or SET090)

See above^^^ "weird behavour".

Do you have a bill validator on the machine, or does it only accept coins?  If there's no bill validator, no need to buy a SET chip.
