Hello CV
Just a general washed out picture. All white but still see a washed out image. Yes the backlight was a CCFL.

Check the fuses on the control board. F701 gives a white screen.

We've had some issues with these little boogers and finding one is going to be tough.

OK CV
When you say control board are you talking about the board internal to the LCD, the mpu board in the slot, or some other board?

Roz,

I've never looked at the fuses (but I'm Gona) as a fix.....But I think he's referring to a wimpy washed out screen that you can still see but it's very light.

Hi guys
Checked the fuse, it was ok as suspected. So pulled out my ESR meter.
Turned out to be one of the aluminum electrolytic on the LCD control board. a 10uf@16VDC. Changed a few others that were borderline. Back in business.
Thanks for your input applause

Thanks,
I'm gona look at the caps on a couple of mine that are washed out. The complete Assy is priced way too high and far to hard to find. I have at least 3 machine with crappy LCD's..... so this may be great info.

Sorry guys. I missed all the fun today!

From my notes, when the screen is washed out white but there is still light to be seen, then the CCFL is NOT the issue, as Montech confirmed with this one. I have noted to check that fuse for a white screen and the F1 fuse for a blacked out screen.
