Hello everybody I just received my first S2000 machine a 9 line triple star and I have a few questions. What is a key chip/ how does it work and how do you know which one you would need. I am also interested in game kits and a vision upgrade kit does anybody know where I can purchase one of these or do any members sell them here.

A key chip is what is used to program some settings on the machines( like denomination and coin info and TITO settings and stuff).  In order to use the key I suggest also having a clear chip.  Sometimes you will get an error if you just try to key so the clear may be needed.  For s2000 machines I always use clear 97 and key 31 with no problem.

No problem.  I work on machines for a side job and have used that set of chips on all of them except the really new flash board s2000 machines which I have only seen one of in the tons I have done.

the 9 line triple star is not an r board.  it is the chip based board.  I actually was just working on one of these machines last week.  usually they run the enhanced MPU with the sister board holding the chips.
