When I install "Crazy Fruit" I get an error that says COMM BOARD NOT DETECTED. The game continues to try to load and the screen will say "CB_XXXX:2011" I've tried on Crazy Fruit,Three Wishes and Rockin Rollin.
Under the menu on Happy Safari it has an option to turn off the COMM board, but have not found that on any of the others yet. Also,When I picked up the game the four boards were taken out of it so I'm not a 100% sure where the cables go on the COMM board. I have one for P9 and one that will fit P2 or P13 and two( one is wires and the other is a ribbon) that will fit P4,P12 or P14. I have a few others but they were all bundled together with a tie strap so figure they were never used.
From the pictures of the boards you can see that one of them has a chip in P5(Comm Key(ticket in dongle)....what is this for?

Hi

Have you done full ram clears on the machines and do you have commboard clear EPROMS?
Where do te wires go ? Commboard should communicate t mainboard so dont think this is your problem.

Oh,Ian, just thought of something and not sure if it matters. The happy Safari(which works)  is a 21 line game and the Crazy Fruit is a 9 line game.

randy,

crazy fruit and happy safari are two different sets of game.  What i mean is that Atronics have different config key for different set of games.  Crazy fruits belong to one type and Happy Safari belongs to another.

I have the Config chip for each game. Once I use the Config chip on Crazy Fruit then reinstall the paytable chip and clear the ram error the game starts to load. The screen shows COMM Board error then it goes to this screen  Scratch Head
Thanks for the help

Figured I would try my luck again  bust gut laughing
I've tried four different games so far and all of them end up with this screen  Help
I tried three diff. COMM boards with diff. settings on each.
Used the Ram clear on the COMM boards. After I install the chips and use the RAM and Config. chips on the main board and go through the setup menu..they all give me this error. Only one that will work in the happy safari. I even tried a different set of boards(all four)

Sorry for jumping late on this thread   frying pan   (haven't played with the "feeds" options in this forum yet....  will have to do that  Duh! )

I don't see you have a progressive set up in your machine.  In case you are not connected to an Accounting System you could try setting up your machine without comboard .

There is a setting called "Comboard Required" in the RAM clear set up.  You can set "NO" if you don't have progressives nor accounting systems and leave the board out of the machine.

For cashline platform I've seen 3 different models of comboard.  It could be also that you need a different board, or a different soft version for that board (EOPROMS)

Better late than never  Crazy
I tried everthing to switch games(5 total) . Tried different COMM boards, different main boards, swinging a chicken over my head. Only one game gives me the option to turn off the COMM board(Happy Safari),which is the one that came with it
