Wild Thing!

« on: May 05, 2009, 01:21:19 AM »

I'm not sure I know how to ask this question, but I will try. So, today I installed a 3 coin 10X pay game chip into my machine, but I was stumped as to what the jackpot would be if I actually hit an 10X 10X 10X... Does the chip already know what the top jackpot is or is it programmable? I had a Pinball Barcrest that hit the top jackpot once and it knew to award 2500 credits just as it said on the pay glass. The top pays now are 5,000 for one coin, 10,000 for two coins. Would I assume the three coin top prize is 20,000? Any ideas?

Thanks,

Rob

The chips hold the pay table.

That is programmed into the slot reel chip.  Unless you have a progressive setup (which I guess would mean you setup your own top award this way), the top prize would shown in your VFD display.

For the record the top prize on a 10x pay machine 3 CM is 25,000 coins typically, there are some paytables that have 15,000 top award, with twice better odds of hitting it.  But the common one is 25,000

So I guess I have to ask then, why would the pay glass have the cut out to install the top prize insert? That's the reason I thought these were programmable.

Anyone have an extra 25,000 insert? The only insert I had over 10,000 was a $100,000 insert!  ;-)

Thanks,

Rob

some casinos change this to a motorcycle or car   "win a car".  There are also some small progressive meters that fit those spaces, although I haven't seen them on an S2000, I'm sure they're out there.

I think I'll print one for mine  "win a free beer"  since that's the only thing that can be had at my house (my friends can have one wether they win or not).

Thanks,
Wayne

Not to mention some unscrupulous casinos in certain countries where they swindle de customer by substituting the top award with something a lot smaller in order to increase their take.  On your 10X pay game, if you reduce the top award from 25,000 and switch it to 15,000 that increases the machine's take by 20 basis points, that's 1/5 of a percent, it may not sound like much, but do this to all the machines in the casino and you are talking a pretty penny.

Hey, nice job on those award stickers. I've been looking for a 10,000 coins sticker now for two weeks. I can just print these and I'm done. Thanks!!!
