Call me a newbie but I'm looking into running an Apex 5400 in serial mode but am confused about the pin outs. There are two connections possible on the bill acceptor a 18-pin connection to run in +12V mode or a 9 pin for 120V. The power is no the problem it is making sense of the the terminology. I assume both connections can be used for serial but the 18 pin has connections such as TXD, INT, Send, and enable. This is what I am used to seeing. The 9 pin connection has no such things. Is it possible to use the 9 pin for serial connections?
