Hi all!  Just picked up a slot about a month ago and had to changed the battery.  Needless to say, it took some time to figure out what the heck I was doing.  Anywho, life is good and it is reset and the Dollar bill acceptor is now working with the help of some smart people from here.

I am trying to find what all these codes mean to help setup the machine.  It's an IGT Double Wild Cherry.

The codes in question are:

2 (sounds - figured this one out)
5 (credits or coins - figured this one out too)
6
7
8
9
13
16
30
31
34
35
39
43
60
78

If someone can help, that would be great.  I am a pinball guy with zero experience with Slots.

thanks!

Thanks for the warm welcome!  Those numbers would be 1227 and 4326

The real reason for my question is that when I set page 0 option 2 -> 1, I get reel spin tones only.  When I set page 0 option 2 -> 0, I get reel stop sounds only.

I thought that option 2 -> 0  is supposed to give me both reel spin tones and reel stop sounds...  Any ideas?  I want both reel spin tones and reel stop sounds if possible.  (it appears that DIP switch 3 has no effect on this SP)

thanks,

- Rich

Different game chips(sp1227) react differently to that option, I like the reel spin tone so I set that.

thanks,

The reel spin stop noise when the machine has the music tone while the reels spins is not electronically generated.  It's the handle solenoid that makes the noise.  When you set it to the other option, the only noise you hear is an electronically generated stop noise, it disables both the spinning reel jingle and the solenoid.

So of you are getting a situation where you hear the spinning reel jingle, but the solenoid is not "thumping" during each reel stop, then there's something wrong with your handle solenoid.

I have never tried SP1227, but all the SP chips I use behave as described above.  maybe you have a chip that doesn't even use the solenoid?  Does your slot handle work correctly? (i.e. locks when there are no bets in place and unlocks with the 1st coin bet?)

Welcome rich_31 to the money pit hobby.

As if you don't have enough to read, check out my "IGT S +  SLOT MACHINE PSRs & TESTS SIMPLIFIED"
in the submit a new file above. It might be a little easier to understand for now until you learn the workings of
a S+.

For the record, we do not "flame" anybody on this site, no matter what the question.  This hobby has hardly any source of information available to home users, so in essence, there's no such thing as a "stupid" question.
